Suitable sand for a hamster10 Aug 2003 08:27 GMT1
Is there any sort of sand that shouldn't be given to a hamster? I have some
beach sand that I've washed and sun dried, but before I give it to my
hamster Sooty, I want to check first that I'm not doing anything wrong!
Thanks
Looking for a new "Fat Boy"10 Aug 2003 03:03 GMT7
My daughter was so upset about the loss of our hamster that I promised her a
new one for her birthday which is TOMORROW. (geez I got myself into a mess) I
called all around, not to Petland, and couldn't find another black dwarf but
did find 2 white ones. All they know is that they ...
Just wondering...10 Aug 2003 01:17 GMT16
Here is something I've been wondering....why are the hamsters in the pet
store all kept together?  I know they separate the different breeds, but not
the sexes.  Petsmart is the only pet store that I've seen the different
sexes put in different cages, but they still put 4-5 Syrians ...

Do you folks remember Romeo the Syrian that came to my home in the mid July?
Today I found him losing his fur on his back. I would like some advice from
experienced people about the hair loss.

2 babies left09 Aug 2003 03:36 GMT1
Well I went to check moms food and water and there are only 2 babies left.
Since she I saw a big pile of food that she hid. So I let her be, so maybe
we will have those two survive. But I was kind of expecting it, since she is
a young mom.
National Differences.09 Aug 2003 03:32 GMT6
As we all know all domestic syrian hamsters originally come from one very
small group that were bred from and are the fore-fathers of all our syrian
hamsters.
I assume that their descendents were exported around the world fairly early

I finally got around to getting a digital camera.

RIP Buttercup (4/2003 - 8/2003)09 Aug 2003 02:33 GMT9
Well, sadly enough, I had to put Buttercup to her resting place.  I got home
last night and she looked fine.  I started to clean her cage and noticed a
large trial of blood behind her and she walked out of her cage.  This seemed
very odd to me because she was hopping around like her ...

Well Odd Ball is a girl and a mom of 6. She has them under her wheel then
moved them in the house and now the wheel is out of the cage. I'll update
more tomorrow.

I need some advice regarding Pudgy my daughter's syrian hamster.  We have two

Strange choices in bedrooms and bathrooms07 Aug 2003 03:35 GMT5
I'm a first-time hamster owner, and little Molly is only 5 weeks
old (4 when I adopted her).  The first few days I had her home, she made
a bathroom out of the little "lookout tower" that came with the SAM cage
I had bought for her.  I was hoping to get her used to the idea ...
