Fosters needed!! Los Angeles, CA30 Sep 2003 07:57 GMT11
Well, here in Los Angeles, in the rescue hamster world, things had been quiet
for a little while.  But as always, when it rains, it pours... shelters and
rescues are overflowing with both Syrians and dwarves.  If anybody can foster
even one cage (all necessary things will be ...
bedding for honey & bear30 Sep 2003 07:42 GMT4
I would love to know what kind of bedding to use for my hamsters. Is it true
that cedar is bad for them? I do not use it but I want to know what is safe and
not safe. Also, my Honey (female) has a spot near her PeePee that looks
inflamed. It has been there for a few days. Could this ...
Not a hammy question..30 Sep 2003 07:41 GMT2
Sorry, but in other groups, I've never got answered. Thumper (my rabbit)
is not acting like himself since Angel (guinea pig) has passed. He can't
be sick.. I just took him to the vet this past week. And Angel didn't
die of an illness. They were best friends, cage buddies.

Meet Alanna and Chanel. They are both Syrian females adopted from Looking
For Love Pet Rescue in Hatboro, PA. They were brought in as part of a 15

New Bert Photos30 Sep 2003 01:52 GMT6
Hi all.  I have been very remiss in posting any photos of our Bert.
He does not seem to like to mug for the camera nearly as much as our
Alice used to... He is a bit young and I have hopes we can get some
more as time goes on.
Bedding29 Sep 2003 18:15 GMT1
When I got my ham (A cutie-pie golden syrian called Marjorie) I bought
a 'hamster starter kit' which was a cage, dust-free sawdust, a little
red house/bed, wheel, water bottle and vita drops.
Well soon after I got my ham one of those RotaStak cages with three

Squeaking hamster28 Sep 2003 19:25 GMT8
I was wondering if somebody could answer a hamster question for me, please:
My hamster of about 20 - 24 months started making squeaking noises tonight,
sort of like a very quiet guinea pig. I've heard her do it before once or
twice. She seemed a bit agitated and was rushing about ...

Trinket, our three legged dwarf hamster, passed away.28 Sep 2003 17:22 GMT10
Just last week I sent a letter to the newsgroup about our two pet hamsters,
Speedy (a Syrian) and Trinket (a Cambell's Dwarf Russian). At the time, I
just wanted everyone to know how good they both were doing. Speedy is 2
years and three months old, and Trinket was approaching 1 ...
Cricket passes.27 Sep 2003 14:48 GMT9
Funny thing how he got his name, my 7 year old brother thought he was a
cricket. He used to just run around the cage squeekin his lil head off.
Anyways, he was about 8 months , maybe 9. I don't know how, he was fine
about 2 hours before. He wasn't injured, no bleeding, etc. He was ...

Well.. I came home today to find some pink squirmy babies in Lilyfer's cage...
so far I've only seen 4.
1 was out of the nest, but squirming around.  I tossed it back into the nest
when she came out for a treat.
