Lil` Prints crosses over19 Oct 2003 18:22 GMT10
Lil` Prints, named for his small stature and tiny feet, has died most
unexpectedly.
He was eating, and drinking, and running, and climbing through his tubes
this afternoon just as happy as could be while all the other hamsters slept.
Introducing Chevy19 Oct 2003 18:21 GMT10
It's been a while.......but a new ham has entered my life, almost exactly a
year after Hammy crossed the rainbow bridge.   We are just becoming
aquainted, so I don't have much to tell, but I will let you know a little
about him.
Ferplast Sippy Water Bottles19 Oct 2003 16:06 GMT4
Hello.  I've purchased a 'Sippy' water bottle and my hamster doesn't
seem to be able to use it correctly.  She only licks around the top of
the water release pin as opposed to pushing it up with her tongue.  I
always wet it when I change the water to try and encourage her to
Elenor has escaped!19 Oct 2003 06:24 GMT4
Well, I though Elenor was ready to be handled but she isn't. Long story
short, she jumped of the back of my dresser, and is now behind my
dresser. She hasn't gone far, but the space is to small for me to go in
there and get her out of there.
Taming a new hamster19 Oct 2003 04:39 GMT7
Last thursday, I bought a hamster, that I named Elanor.
I gave her the recomended day alone. Now whenever I try to pet her or
feed her food directly from my hand, she runns from my hand. The other
day when my mom tried to pet her, she made a hissing noise.
Teddy Bear Hamster urinating blood19 Oct 2003 04:34 GMT5
My 1 1/2 year old hamster has begun to have difficulty peeing and when he
goes there is blood, he seems restless, he seems to be drinking more than
normal, but he is eating about the same. What could be wrong? Is there
anything that I can do?
For crying out loud... I thought trolls were an extinct species.19 Oct 2003 01:44 GMT3
Well, I see that not a lot has changed in the months I have been away from
the computer...
We still have the porn and spam trolls around, coming onto any and every
site, scavenging for fodder...

Why doesn't Elanor like bedding in her cage?18 Oct 2003 08:09 GMT7
I have 2 cages, connected by a tube. One of the cages, has a metal poles
for a floor, and a vertical tube leading up to her nest.
If I try to put bedding onto the floor of this cage, she will put the it
in the tube connecting the cages. Then sometimes she'll just sit under
Maxine's running habits18 Oct 2003 00:01 GMT5
Well, I have finally gotten the wheel working in a reliable way and recorded
some overnight data from it (Maxine doesn't run at all during the day)
I have posted plots of the data, they are big pictures each 1024x768 but
they are small size 64k take a look and post comments, I would ...
Dirty hamster17 Oct 2003 12:32 GMT5
Hope you are all well.
I'd like some advice about cleaning a hamster please.  Binky, my 10
month old hamster seems to be having a problem cleaning her backside.
She must have pooed and unfortunately it's dried onto her fur - it's
My Hammies.16 Oct 2003 16:53 GMT2
Whew feels like it's been forever since i've posted.
All the hams are doing fine. Their happy. My count is 10. Lily just
passed earlier tonight. I recently noticed she was slowing down, had a
vet appt. because she's so young it couldn't be old age. I thought
i`m curious15 Oct 2003 07:16 GMT9
does anybody give their hamsters special or bottled water, or just what
comes from the tap?
I don`t mean Avian or Perrier (La de da)
I wonder because the big cities like to add flouride and even iodine and it
Bedding Mix14 Oct 2003 17:38 GMT8
I currently use shredded pine bedding manufactured by Sun Seed Company of
Bowling Green, Ohio. This product is made of northern white pine.
My mother once asked me whether I would like some of the cedar bedding she
bought for the cedar for moth control (her pet is a 100-lb ...
