We have just got 2 lovley dwarf chinese hamsters. I was told in the shop that they would not soil their bedding as they are clean creatures. However after a few days the bedding is quite heavily soiled with urine and faeces, any ideas??

I'm heading out in a few hours to get bedding for my two dwarf hamsters. Right now I have them in Cedar shavings and I know it's not good for them (they are sleeping in one of the habitrail tubes at the moment) so I want to know what is the best for them.

My ham chews her water bottle metal tube and in doing so manages to empty the water everywhere! I recently got a bottle with a shorter tube to see if this would help but it doesn't.
