hoarding20 Nov 2003 01:44 GMT11
Hi, everybody.  I've had a dwarf hamster for about 3 months, and I've
recently found her hoarding all the sunflower seeds from her food in her
nest.  She has so many in there now that it takes nearly all the room in
there, so she's cramped when sleeping.

Dwarf hamster temperment18 Nov 2003 17:57 GMT12
Our dwarf hamster, Harvey passed away about 3 weeks ago.  We buried him in
our backyard and decided to get another dwarf hamster cause we loved Harvey
so much and he was the BEST!
Harvey would allow you to pick him up and we would sit for hours holding him
Choking hamster18 Nov 2003 09:33 GMT3
On Hamsters Galore, we just experienced a member's hamster's death
resulting from complications of a sunflower seed having lodged in its
throat. This was diagnosed by a vet. Another member thinks her
hamster, too, may have experienced a death in the past this way as
Cyst(?) on chin18 Nov 2003 01:56 GMT2
Our siberian hamster, about a year old, has developed a small growth
on her chin.  It is snake-like for lack of a better word, and has now
developed an offshoot - looks like a root.  When it was small it
didn't seem to bother her much, but the new shoot seems to be annoying
Building child's confidence with new Syrian Hamster16 Nov 2003 21:25 GMT3
My 7 year old daughter used to have a long haired Syrian who was very
docile in nature, moved quite slowly, and was easy to tame. From a
young age he would happily sit on her hand or crawl over her.
Eventually he passed away at a little over 3 years of age.

RIP - Popo15 Nov 2003 01:51 GMT17
My sweet little Popo died in her sleep last night.  I saw her in the afternoon
when she came out for a drink of water.  When I noticed that she wasn't running
around like she usually does, I decided to check on her and found her in her
nest.

I can't believe it... I just got myself another 7 Winter Whites normal...
I got them from my usual pet shop. They said these 7 were given by one of
their old customer, who couldn't take care of them as they were growing in
numbers! Unwanted, and uncared for, i took them back to care ...

Say Hi to Hervey13 Nov 2003 08:29 GMT14
I hope you will welcome Hervey and I.
Hervey came to live with me on Thursday. He is my first hamster since
schooldays: not I exactly yesterday! Hervey is a Syrian hamster, six
weeks old, with a lovely soft peachy-cream coat and beady black eyes. He
Greetings! (from Fuku and Romeo)11 Nov 2003 12:31 GMT10
I don't know how many people who remember me (or my hamsters Fuku and Romeo)
are still in this group, but I wanted to drop a line.
I've been pretty busy but my two Syrian boys (and I) are doing well. Romeo had
a fur loss problem in summer, but he got all the fur back in 2 weeks or ...
