left the two to explore their new surroundings and have done nothing

I'm glad to say that Toaster is feeling much better; she recovered from
the wet-tail and is very active again.
VERY active.
She's desperately trying to get out of her cage.  Tonight she succeeded.

My 2 Chinese hams died within a day of each other & neither one was acting the
least bit sick.....
I will miss them.....They were both very shy, gentle & cute!! They never bit &
never fought...They were just peaceful fuzzy little bits of sunshine....

Question re Hamster Preferences27 Feb 2004 07:42 GMT15
Am seriously thinking of getting myself another little critter and have decided
to get a hamster this time. I used to have many furry and feathered companions,
but my work and travel overseas eventually caused me to have to forego that
pleasure in life. However, now that I am more ...

The first Wodent encounter!!26 Feb 2004 02:42 GMT2
We treated Bam to her first Wodent Wheel yesterday!  It's a bit on the tall
side of her cage, but she dutifully climbed out of her cage and into it
during some supervised exploration.  She didn't know whether to run in it or
weave in and out of the holes!!  It's fantastic, will post ...

I had to bring one of my hammies to the vet to get a small growth removed
from his eye lid http://home.comcast.net/~cliff-f/photos/LGsEYE.jpg but now
that he is home he seems sick. I am scared sick he might die as I have never
had one that ever recovered from a visit to a vet :(
terrible news25 Feb 2004 06:23 GMT8
I feel like I can talk about it now...
Saturday evening I came home to find Baby, our prairie dog, had escaped from
his cage.
Apparently he had pushed and pulled at a wire that was keeping his cage door

diet: formed vs. mash25 Feb 2004 06:18 GMT3
I just got a hamster a week ago (she was a Valentine's gift).  I've
tried to read as much as I can.  Sure enough, she just developed symptoms
of wet-tail tonight.  The medicine is being administered and she
appears to be doing better now.  After obtaining the correct medication,

I have finally decided to get Minnie Hanna Hamster a sand box/bowl. Can
anyone tell me the best type to buy and where to get it? I have access to a
Petco if that's a good place to buy. Also would regular sand (like from Home
Depot) work? Please excuse my ignorance. After owning many ...
