The New Addition Has Been Named!25 Feb 2004 05:59 GMT4
After dealing with our loss of Minx this morning, we finally settled on a
name for our newest addition.
Nutmeg.
We're 99% sure she's a she at this point.
RIP Minx - 11/27/02 to 02/18/0425 Feb 2004 05:56 GMT5
This morning we awoke to find our lovely little Minx had passed away.
She was the second daughter to Twixxy, who still lives with us.
Minx and Twixxy used to live together still until several months ago.  In
the beginning, Minx used to be the bossy one and push her mom around a lot.
Hamster noises?25 Feb 2004 05:54 GMT5
This is our first hamster.  She's nearly two months old; we've had her for a
few weeks.
She had a bump on her side and appeared to be scratching too much so we took
her to the vet.  The vet couldn't find anything, but suspected possible mite
I'm sadistic for owning this hamster25 Feb 2004 04:21 GMT16
I have a hamster that bites very hard--the kind of bite that reaches
the bone.  She bites in the cage, out of the cage, with and without
treats.  She'll run up your arm when you have gloves on and bite the

Dwarves learning bad habits from Syrians?24 Feb 2004 19:43 GMT4
Has anyone had this happen?  Our crazy Syrian, Silver, decided again last night to move all his food to his wheel.  He then proceeded to run in his wheel all night - with the food in it!  I had to move him to another room last week because of this nasty habit - so he's in the ...
an OVERNIGHT CURE for cage biters24 Feb 2004 19:31 GMT4
Hi everyone
I apologize to the others who have seen me write again and again, my response
to the CAGE BITING Dilema, but it hurts me to know there are still hammies out
there that are frustrated, and people who are concerned about their seemingly
Baldy Bam?23 Feb 2004 10:39 GMT2
Bam seems to have been losing a little hair on her lower belly, leg, and a
little on her back.  Having owned guinea pigs, I am familiar with the pains
that dust mites cause from wood shavings, and havent had problems but my
local pet store seems to have changed suppliers of wood ...

Now is the time to think about photos for the 2005 APH Calendar.
It has fallen to me to compile the APH calendar for next year as Jane has
said she can't do it anymore.

I haven't updated in such a while.... Tizzy was adopted!!
And, the dwarves are still here, we are still continuing the testing for
diabetes...which is proving to be difficult as they don't seem to want to
provide clean urine samples *sigh*
happy hams at last!22 Feb 2004 10:13 GMT4
I wanted to let you know what's been going on with the dwarves that I'm fostering for Angela.  I had separated them since Kibbles (the gray one) was picking on Squibbles (the white one).  I put Kibbles in the CritterTrail One and Squibbles got a CritterTrail Xtreme with the wheel ...

I lost my hamster in my mini-van when transporting it in the
