Today is a sad day.....I went to feed Toddy this morning & she was curled up
like she was sleeping but she had passed on......She had always been too small
for her age & had behavior problems but I guess I wanted to give her a chance
at a normal life......

I just came across a reference in one of the other threads to toilet training.
Was the poster serious or just joking? Can hamsters really be toilet
trained??!!! If so, how on earth do you do that, given that they are caged
animals? I have had many different kinds of pets before and ...

Sorry to have been away for so long, but you people made me so enthusiastic
about the idea of getting a hamster that I ran out last week and finally took

Well I put the millet in the warm, clean glass bedroom, he pouched a few,
unpouched it, sniffed a lot, sat down, nibbled at the seeds from his paws...
The millet seeds keep getting stuck between his toes.  Which concerned me, so I

I got some millet(on a stalk) when I was in our local feed merchants.  I
thought the hams would enjoy a little for an occasional treat, but then
couldnt find it on the list of safe foods.
So is it ok for Syrians??
