Yesterday I got my first hamster, a Campbells Dwarf. It was completely
unplanned, which I know is never a good idea. My cousin had gotten two
and they apparently were fighting so much that she was worried about
it, so asked me if I could take one, so I did. I of course fell

So, I gave my other hamsters to my students but I want to take my four robs
with me to Canada, because they are rare to find there. What sort of a
container would you recommend?
Should I fill it up a lot with wood shavings?

Have you ever yawned and then notice that another person next to you
will yawn?  Or inversely, you see someone yawn and then somehow you
need to yawn too?  This phenomenon is called "contagious yawning" and
although it sounds hokey, many scientists have measured and observed

Our dwarf hamster now has a problem with one of his hind legs.  It seems to
just dangle there, as though he has no control over it anymore.  It does not
appear to be causing him any pain as he wanders around, or is being handled.
Is this common as they age?  He is about 1 1/2 years ...

It's a miracle. 'Jane' has come back to life. I had given up on her and was
just waiting for the final end to arrive but she is just like new. I just
can't believe it. I looked in to see her sleeping but looked to be breathing
a bit. I called to her and she awoke just like always. ...

I was thinking of giving my Syrian a bowl of chinchilla dust to dig/roll
about in.

My hammy, Elanor likes to escape and go into basement bathroom, where
part of the floor has an opening to the ground. She then makes a tunnel
in the dirt.
This gives me an idea. We have these huge buckets of laundry detergent.

My two year old female syrian Poppy has recently developed scabby patches on
her skin, she doesn't seem to be in any pain but they look awful.  took her

Two weeks ago my next-door neighbor's hamster escaped from his cage on their
third floor. Two nights ago he appeared in my second floor bedroom. How can
I trap the hamster without hurting him?

My daughter the vet tech called with a request to bring home a hamster last
night. She is a Syrian...I'd say about 5 months. She was brought in by our
local Petco (who are actually quite good about vet care) because of a "club
foot". She is a very different color for us...white with ...

My son wants go get a hamster.  Can you guys fill me in on what I need to
get and what I need to know or where I can get more info?  Thanks in

just a quick question.
what does everyone use as bedding material. i use wood shavings for the cage
base and toilet paper type stuff for there sleeping material.
