Spunky's Gone!15 May 2004 21:31 GMT5
I just wanted to let everyone know that my little Spunky passed away today.
A few days after I had stopped her meds because I thought she was fine,
she got sick again. I tried everything I could and I was giving her the
baytril every day for about a week, and I had been giving her ...
Hamster with nose bleeds long14 May 2004 21:44 GMT4
We all (well I do) look to this news group for advice on our hammies so I
jus thought I'd share my story of Leo.
A few weeks ago he crawled out of bed covered in blood. He'd been to the
vets a week before (for a cold and clicking) and fallen off the table twice
Hamsters & Hermit Crabs = Okay?13 May 2004 04:11 GMT15
I was just given a pet hermit crab, who my niece bought from a pet store
Wednesday. They had "just" arrived. He's been at her home in his own new cage.
He's very active & healthy.
Do any of you have a Hermit Crab?
Weird hamster behaviour?11 May 2004 20:01 GMT13
Since some time, our hamster tends to empty whatever he has stashed in his
cheeks right on the spot. So if we take him out of his cage and put him on
the couch, he'll go to a corner and dump everything he has right there. Any
idea why they do this?
Another health Q09 May 2004 19:50 GMT8
OK, after an antibioic treatment, the wet tail is gone - but now I have
three new concerns.
1) The hams right eye seems a tiny bit stuck.  After the ham wakes up,
it won't open the right eye as quickly as the left, but after a while
Wodent Wheel09 May 2004 05:06 GMT10
I just got the wodent wheel i sent off for and i love it already. It
says that it is the olny wheel recommended by the aspca and that 2
percent of sales go to the aspca humane program. I got the small one
but it is plenty large enough for my hammy and it fits my 20 gallon
New Roborovskis08 May 2004 21:42 GMT2
HELP! We're overrun with hamsters (slight exaggeration). After having 2
Syrian hamsters (at different times) we decided on having 2 dwarf
Roborovskis. We chose 2 males from the shop only to find, a couple of months
later, that one of the boys is a girl. We now have a mixed pair of ...

Celebrate: Today is HAPPY HAMSTER DAY throughout the World08 May 2004 16:18 GMT9
Happy Hamster Day!
Our Hamsters are one of the smallest yet wisest creatures on earth.
They have no bad vices.
They don't overeat, they get just the right amount of sleep.
Hamster Nails08 May 2004 04:04 GMT6
My hamster Nita seems to have ripped a nail on one of her arms.  It has
ripped, but is not totally gone, it's still hanging on.  Should I just
leave it like so, or try and do something about it?

RIP Scooter - 07/20/02 to 05/04/0407 May 2004 18:23 GMT9
Tonight we lost our little buddy Scooter.   =(
He was the boy of the first pair of dwarf hams we brought home with us, the
other was his mate, Snowball, who passed some time back.  Father to 31
children, most of whom he outlived with the exception of Psycho and Twixxy

Hammie as wet nurse?07 May 2004 14:32 GMT14
Has a hammie ever been used as a wet nurse for any other animals? I would
love to find out if this is possible as I may have found some baby chip
monks without a mother and if there was a mommy hammie with a brood would it
be possible to add one or two to her family?
