It seems he got over the pneumonia - although he still coughs a little once
in a while - now the problem is that he doesn't drink any water anymore -
either from the bottle or from a plate. I'm thinking maybe administering
the antibiotic with the syringe (just a bit) forcefully ...

The top five pics are of the new babies!! :) First time momma Pokey didn't
eat any of them, I'm really proud of her. :) We have one that's really dark,
and one that's lighter than the rest - and he/she opened her eyes a tiny bit

Unfortunately, Quark got cancer & I had to put him down :(
Paisley is doing great!! She is a little chubby but is on a diet & now looks at
me with disgust when I give her veggies instead of peanuts, or anything else
fatty which is what she loves.....

Any tips on training Pepy to come?

I've been looking at different hamster discussion lists and there seems to
be a lot messages about hamsters dying. As we just got two little girls,
this worries me. I'm afraid of my kids bonding with them only to have them
die.

I fell asleep on the sofa last night at midnight. When my girlfriend woke me
at 6 a.m. the hamster's wheel was off and he was nowhere to be seen.

I posted here a few weeks ago about hand taming.  Well, I am proud to say
that Pete is hand tamed and has become an avid family member.  We, including
my wife, are really enjoying his presence.  Last nite, we got him one of
those lil critter car things, where he runs on the floor in ...

I bought the ham for my son for responsibility, but I look forward to coming
home and seeing him
I bought him a new Critter trail x (with the external wheel on top) because
his other one was too small,

I just found this forum and think it's great. We will be getting a hamster
for my daughter soon and she is all set on a dwarf (one of those with a
stripe down their back) but I have never seen them in any pet store. And
even if I did I'm not sure I'd like to get a hamster from a pet ...

Thanks to those who pointed me to pictures of some Rotastak layouts. As you
will see Mr Pellipar's cage has grown somewhat. It seemed cruel keeping the
fat bloater in such a small space.

Just to let you all know, Hannibal died this evening.
She dies peacefully wrapped in a cloth on a hot water bottle as she was cold
to the touch.
She was refusing water and food before hand and was wobbly and lethargic so

I was given 2 dwarf hamsters, one male & one female. they seem to be getting
along fine & i would rather not separate them but I dont want them to breed.
My question is : when will they start mating ? ( i think they are about 6
months old but the male testicles arent out yet). ...

Just a few minutes ago our dear Chardonnay died in my hands.
She had been slowing down for the last few months.
She still walked in her wheel and ate her favorite foods and drank well.
She loved to crawl in my hands and had the sweetest look on her face

Sooo.. Pokey had babies. I got Gumby and Pokey from the pet store and they
told me they were both males.
Wednesday night, Pokey had babies. I'm afraid to do anything to find out
exactly how many, but there are definitely 5. I clearly saw those.

Over the past few weeks, I added two more sweeties to our horde, I just had
been so lazy I hadnt gotten any photos of them until today.
So in alphabetical order, here they are with their own little stories......
