Today we lost my little friend Lucky. I came home from work to find him on top of his house apparently sleeping, (not unusual), but he made no movement at all when I started poking in his tank to check on things. A gentle touch confirmed my fear, he had passed

My daughter's friend was going to take our hammies to her house and take care of them when we go on a week's vacation but, as luck would have it, they are going away the same week we are... ;-(. Sooooo, I talked my friend, who will be visiting my cat, into looking after them as ...

Anybody got any tips for taming a biter? We have two new additions to the horde, and while one of them nibbles but never really bites, the other one really does try to bite. He's broken skin on at least one occasion and since then it's difficult to trust him!

My very first hamster, Tony, passed away on the 27th at about 18 months of age; quite suddenly, actually, he was only sick the night before, and died the next day... I think it was wettail, but it came on too suddenly for me

We went and bought another baby this morning. I have pretty well talked Paul out of the whole breeding idea. He is a dwarf that is mostly white. He has a rectangle of brown on his face and about five tiny spots on his body. Little bit on the fuzzy side. I know

| Hamster as a pet | 01 Aug 2004 17:55 GMT | 9 |
Some questions: 1) would a hamster be a good pet for a 9 year old? 2) is there any breed of hamster that would allow for 2 to live together or is that a big no-no?

| Snake sound effect freaks out my hamster | 01 Aug 2004 04:00 GMT | 1 |
I have a documentary about snakes on DVD. There's lots of hissing going on. When I first played it, my hamster frooze at every hiss. Not surprising, but it was interesting to see instinct at work. I haven't watched the DVD again, for the sake of my hamster.
