Irritation at Cage Cleaning07 Nov 2004 03:12 GMT4
Does anyone else have a hamster who is very annoyed when its cage is
cleaned?
My Biscuit is more curious than anything when he returns to a clean cage,
but Punkster is very visibly annoyed.  He starts chattering his teeth when

My hamster MouseGirl has undergone an extreme change in personality the
past few days.
She used to be quite easy to pick up, never minded my hand coming her
cages. I would always talk to her before I picked her up and she would

My hamster does flips03 Nov 2004 11:59 GMT5
I was wondering... my russian dwarf Rocket keeps doing flips in his
wheel... as in he stops but it doesn't. Sometimes he even gets thrown
out of it. He looks around for a split sec like he doesn't know what
happened, then goes straight back to the wheel. Is he retarded, is the

Aging or possibly sick?03 Nov 2004 08:06 GMT1
I have never posted here before, but I have a Teddy-bear hamster that
I will have had coming upon three years now.  I know he is fairly old,
but have been noticing some things that have me concerned, such as:
 - his belly skin seems loose and wrinkly (maybe weight loss?)
Possibly getting a hamster...01 Nov 2004 23:26 GMT10
I'm getting a coupon book with a coupon for a free hamster in it, and I
might decide to go ahead and use said coupon.  I've been offered a free
cage (haven't seen it yet), so that's not really an issue.
I'm wondering if there are any sites people would recommend that talk

hamster needs help01 Nov 2004 22:00 GMT8
My friend has a hamster and its not too well at the moment.  The  hammy is
about 1.5 to 2 years old, it seems he *may* be constipated, and his stomach
is very bloated which is causing discomfort to the poor chap.  He's drinking
quite a lot and is eating some bits of food.  He's been ...
walnuts01 Nov 2004 04:13 GMT1
I saw some pics on the net that showed a hammy in a bowl of walnuts. I
was thinking that a walnut would be a good chew toy ‹ and cheap! A
couple of articles suggested hardwood limbs and walnut was a choice.
Has anyone used a walnut as a chew thingy?
