I came across this very useful piece of information during my hamster searches
on the net. Don't remember which site I found it on but thought that I would
pass the information along to you guys, in the hope that it may be of help to
some of you out there.

Syrians vs. Dwarfs...06 Dec 2004 23:52 GMT12
Hi~  I've found a pet shop that has males, but they don't know if
they're Syrians or Dwarfs.
I'm just as un-knowledgeable as they are, so my looking at them tonite
would probably be a mistake.

WHAT do Breeders do...04 Dec 2004 07:30 GMT30
...with the 'excess' litter-siblings in their genetic experiments ???
1-  Are these the ones that end up in animal shelters ?
2-  Do breeders have dozens of friends, relatives, who want hamsters ?
3-  Do they find a market to sell them to (pet stores, ads...) ?
cats & hamsters04 Dec 2004 04:24 GMT6
Anyone else have any luck getting these two pets to be friends?  Mine love
each other, they kiss each other on the nose, and Chip chases around the
cats when he's in his ball.  I wouldn't trust the cats alone with him, but
they love playing with him when I'm around

The one thing the book doesn't say, is if they should be cooked first.
Can someone tell me if I should cook things first before giving them to my

I have been reading this group for  a few days and I wanted to step out

I am the new parent of a Dward Hamster, about a month or so new.
I have one of the S.A.M. cages, but I decided to add on so to be able to
