Hamster not feeling well.29 May 2005 14:38 GMT8
I haven't posted here for a long time simply because my daughter has been
taking good care of her hamsters and we have had no problems so far (knock
on wood!). Until last couple of weeks...
First thing we've noticed is that Capuccion's (one of the girls) pouches
I have a question27 May 2005 15:35 GMT2
Our new hamster we bought (Rascal), either his pouches or something on him
might be swollen. I dont think it is his pouches because the swelling part
seems to be above his front arms. I noticed this today. I kinda looks like
it is behind his pouches and above his arms. So I dont ...
Meet the new "Meg"26 May 2005 19:44 GMT4
You may recall that we got a sick hamster that died after three days.  Well,
we got a replacement last Friday(not from the same store).  This is another
female Syrian.  Our previous hamsters were both male dwarfs so this is a
learning experience.  She is very easily frightened.  ...

Our dwarf hamster is wet underneath her mouth and down her underside.
Not walking well just all of a sudden.  She's about a year and a half
old... any ideas?

For those facing loss25 May 2005 18:48 GMT2
I know that a lot of us have dealt with the bitter truth that our little
fuzzies are with us for so short a time.
I saw this on a friend's blog today, and thought of all of us.  It's
about a dog, but I think it still applies.
Help... hamster anger management.25 May 2005 18:44 GMT7
I posted earlier about American Airlines not taking me dear Stanzie, so
she ended up staying in NYC with a friend. Since she's always been
great around people (the reason I chose her; she'd even get passed
around at drunken college parties), I didn't think this would be a
Just a funny dream23 May 2005 01:18 GMT2
I have constantly been dreaming of Cutie since we bought her. The sad part
about this, is i act them out LOL. (setting the scene)...By my bed is a
night stand and on my night stand is a 4 sided C.D. case. On my C.D. case
is a wadded up chewing gum package and a kleenex box. I was ...
Snowball21 May 2005 22:08 GMT2
Sorry to hear that Snowball has passed away. It's always sad.
Sqeeking Hamster21 May 2005 18:23 GMT2
I'm new to this group!
I've had Molly for about 18 months and last night when she woke up, she was
making loud squeaking noises (almost a whine)  It sounded like she was in
pain, but was behaving quite normally.
Cutie's first escape20 May 2005 17:25 GMT2
Last night after I went to bed,my mother in law was still up ( spending
time with us). She didnt see cutie push the top to her upstairs room open.
So she evendently fell off the cage and off the coffee table onto the
floor. My mother in law said she kept seeing something out of the ...

Our little Delia, a dwarf, has escaped. I'm setting out some food
and will watch when things are quite tonight. Hopefully she'll be
hungry.

New hamster is sick19 May 2005 23:12 GMT4
We just bought a new Syrian hamster from Petco last sunday.  It looks to be
a young female.  I notice at least one of the others in the tank at the
store had a wet tail but it did not occur to me that there was a problem.
Our's did not have a wet tail so I thought it looked good. ...
Bumblefoot?19 May 2005 21:14 GMT5
Two of our hammies have apparently contracted Bumblefoot according to our
vet.
Bumblefoot is a condition that affects the hammies feet and causes boil like
symptoms which contain puss and eventually burst ( or are lanced by the

http://cbsnewyork.com/healthwatch/health_story_125132159.html
The story has been making the rounds afer a CDC report linked 30 cases
of antibiotic-resistant salmonella to pet hamsters, mice, etc.  Yeah
scary-sounding.
Hamster's Teeth19 May 2005 15:06 GMT2
