I have just recetly bought a beautiful 5 week old syrian hamster. but i,m having a problem with her already she chewed a hole in the maze that adds on the safari cage i have got now and she is trying to get out of chewing the connecter on the side of the cage.

We got a 8 week old hamster recently that only sleeps buried under sawdust,shes got a house with bedding in that she wont sleep in and ive put bedding down in the corner that she sleeps in only to have her put it somewhere else,as shes so little im worried about her getting cold ...

I recently purchased a brand new hammy from a pet store. I noticed that they had their hammies on pine shavings. I have heard that pine is not the best alternative for bedding, but thats all they seem to sell at petstores. Is cedar an ok alternative? Can anyone recommend a healthey

When I first got my hamster, whenever I tried to pick him up, he made growling noises. I felt like I was scaring him to death. He stopped making those noises for the most part. Has anyone else gotten noises like this from a hamster?

Right now I`m trying to make My white Sryian male as comfortable as possible. He is cold and doesn`t move. I was just able to get some fluid into him. He is breathing slow. I doubt he will make it throught the night.
