| Looking for a breader in southern NH | 28 Jul 2006 21:09 GMT | 4 |
I am looking for a reliable breeder in my area if anyone knows of one. I would like a Syrian male of just the right age to replace the dozen or so I used to have a few years ago. I was considering just going to PetSmart or PetCo but I am not sure if this is a good idea. I came ...

| Hi - finally I'm back online!! | 27 Jul 2006 09:38 GMT | 2 |
Hi there all. I used to be a member of this group about 3 years ago, but haven't had a computer since. Just got back online and would like to hear from some of my old alt.pets.hamsters pals from then. Alas I have no hamsters at the moment, but hope to have soon. My e-mail

| Hot times -- colossal balls getting bigger? | 26 Jul 2006 23:40 GMT | 6 |
We have a male teddy bear hamster, Monty, probably around seven or eight months old. He's always been healthy and *very* happy to be out of his cage -- in fact, "out of his cage" beats "treat" in his mind. Lately we've had something of a heat wave: outside temps of around 95 to

| Why did my hamster die? | 26 Jul 2006 14:55 GMT | 4 |
My hamster died last night. We only had him for about a month. He was only 2 months old. The night before last he was very active. He was climbing the bars on his cage and running a lot. In the morning we noticed that he didn't come out, but we didn't think anything of it.

| Hamster Breeder - Southern UK | 25 Jul 2006 09:42 GMT | 2 |
Although we're still getting over the death of "buster" in May, my wife and I are looking to get another hamster, probably in October. We bought Buster from a petshop and although we never handled him, he was a very sweet and very much missed pet. He did bite when we did try to ...

| Height of cage | 23 Jul 2006 15:11 GMT | 3 |
I decided to go ahead and buy a Syrian Long Haired Hamster. I bought a new cage today with a 2nd floor within the cage. I was wondering, what is the maximum height I can set the 2nd level to be above the floor level? There is a ladder for the hamster to climb down.

Hello. I am looking to buy either 1 Syrian hamster or 2 Russian Dwarf hamsters. I have read varying reports on the adult size of these two breeds. I would be grateful if anyone can confirm roughly what size their adult

| RIP Spot - 05/18/04 to 06/28/06 | 17 Jul 2006 16:39 GMT | 6 |
We lost our little Mr. Spot last night. He passed sometime while I was out running errands. I wish I had been here with him. He came home with me after being injured by another hamster in the store. He had a small wound on his head, which for a long time left a little spot

| Gerbilarium for Hamsters? | 11 Jul 2006 09:15 GMT | 4 |
We saw a gerbilarium (basically a conventional cage with a glass bottom with lots of sawdust to let the gerbils dig tunnels, etc.) the other day and would have thought it would make the ideal home for our hamster if it had been a bit bigger. I don't seem to see "hamsterariums" ...

| Any idea what he died of | 07 Jul 2006 18:07 GMT | 7 |
Ok so I live in the UK where it has been really REALLY hot lately, and I came home yesterday evening to find one of my dwarf hamsters had died. He lived with his brother, and they were only about 8 months. (his brother is still alive by the way)

| Bladder stones in hamsters | 06 Jul 2006 16:19 GMT | 13 |
My 18 month old Syrian hamster, Muddy, has been bleeding when urinating. This began in the middle of April. He was initially treated for cystitis with 3 injections of Marbocyl. The bleeding stopped for a few days and then returned. The vets then decided the treatment had
