I just received an early Christmas present - a new home for my 3 month old
Syrian male. It's a large, bright red plastic storage bin. twice the size of
his current aquarium tank.
He's been living in that smallish glass tank all his life and really needs

Diabetic hamster food?25 Dec 2006 04:04 GMT1
I'm new to the whole groups thing and was hoping someone here can give
me some advice.  My hamster (roughly 2 years old) has been drinking a
lot of water and peeing lately.  From the stuff I've found online, this
seems to be a sign of him being diabetic.
We have a greasy hamster.19 Dec 2006 15:57 GMT6
We made a bit of a mistake yesterday. When cleaning the cage, I decided to
put a bit of oil (olive oil) on the shaft that goes through the spinning
wheel and holds it up to minimize squeaking. I didn't realize that part of
that shaft is actually exposed. Misty went back in, started ...

I was just going through some  photos of some old friends and I remembered
these shots of one adult hamster that for some reason decided to change her
hair style in just a matter of a few weeks.

Back in the hamster world.13 Dec 2006 23:49 GMT13
I used to post here a while back when we had two dwarf girls Cappuccino
and Honey Comb. The girls both lived very healthy lives and both expired
within weeks of each other when they were approx. 2.5 yrs old, of old age
I believe. Each one in turn made a huge nest away from the main ...
Tanner13 Dec 2006 23:34 GMT11
Tanner has finally chosen to cross the Rainbow Bridge...sometime between
midnight last night and now (11:49 am).
He's no longer suffering and neither am I (from watching this decline after
his stroke nearly 2 weeks ago).
Pet Supermarket mistreats their hamsters12 Dec 2006 03:25 GMT12
I know there are many more important things going on in Venice, and in
the world we live in but any one who is an animal lover should take
note. Pet Supermakret here in Venice is not taking care of the animals
they have for sale. My husband and I went in there over the weekend for
Stunthamster overspeeding on wheel, gets spun off11 Dec 2006 17:45 GMT8
Hello. I have a 2 month old Roborovski male named Whacko. He doesn't just
trot on his exercise wheel but absolutely gallops full speed ahead. It's
scary to watch!
At such high speeds, the momentum of the spinning wheel will spin him
a pleasant surprise!06 Dec 2006 22:25 GMT5
Hi Group,
I was certainly surprised by Tanner last night...I thought he was about to
cross the Rainbow Bridge, but apparently he has other plans!  ;)
Although his walking is still impaired (from what appeared to be a stroke),
I am done with Hamsters.06 Dec 2006 11:40 GMT24
Grizzly passed last night for some unknown reason. I found him in his food
dish looking like he was asleep and I just can't figure out what happened.
He seemed healthy and was well looked after but something went wrong some
how.  He had lost interest in his wheel and seemed to ...

Anyone had any luck with clicker training their hamsters and has any
advice they could give?
I've got three dwarfs I'm working with, and I need suggestions on
