Help!31 Mar 2007 19:50 GMT4
My daughter got some string into the hamster cage, and one of my baby
hamsters got it tangled around her leg. I got the string off finally by
picking at the fibers on the string, but now she's got a cut from where
the string twisted. I can see all the way to the bone. This is a ...
Anybody remember Hammy Hamster?31 Mar 2007 00:38 GMT3
Greetings;
I fondly remember a childrens show I loved when I was young called  Hammy
Hamster.  It starred various live rodents and was cleverly done.  That show
was one of my favourites.
Who started this group and when?27 Mar 2007 13:07 GMT9
I was recently wondering how long this group has been around. I have seen
such a decline lately and also wonder if it would be against any rules to
post pictures. I know this is not a binary group and this has always been
taboo but I know it would pick things up and see no ...

and no energy are the only symptoms.  No hair lost, no wet tail, no
weight loss.

Hamster is bleeding18 Mar 2007 06:37 GMT2
Last night I noticed Chewy, my 2-year-old girl syrian hamster, was
bleeding from her behind.  Today the vet said Chewy is bleeding from
her vulva area which might indicate (1) a tumor in her uterus or (2)
an infection.  The vet said Chewy also has thickening around the
Baby Question17 Mar 2007 22:45 GMT8
My dwarf hamsters had babies last week. I thought I had two females, but
I didn't. Do I need to move the father hamster to a different cage, or
is it safe to keep them all together? So far the father has left them
alone.
Help with fat hamster14 Mar 2007 00:29 GMT8
My hamster Punkster is almost 3 years old at the moment, and he's put on
quite a bit of weight.  He was always extremely timid and never did
like leaving his house.  At the moment, he's always either sleeping or
eating (quite an appetite on the old guy).  He was always ...
New Hamster12 Mar 2007 01:01 GMT1
Hi there.  I am new to the group.  I have a new hamster.  I brought
her home on Wednesday, so I have not had her quite a week yet.  In the
pet store, they called her a "honey bear" hamster.  She is small,
still pretty much a baby from what I can tell.  She is grey and white

We just brought home a new hamster who is actually Hambone`s granddaughter.
Andrea named her Sarsaparilla and she is so sweet and easy to handle- just
like all of Hambone`s kin.
I have just posted her pics at alt.binaries.pictures.animals
Three months along and a couple of concerns07 Mar 2007 15:40 GMT5
My wife gave me a hamster for my birthday a few months ago, that we
named Buttercup.  Recently, she bought another hamster, and moved
Buttercup to a bigger (two-level) cage.  There are a couple of strange
things Buttercup has been doing in response:

My flat mate just returned from a trip and came into my room. When my
hamster saw him, he instantly freezed and stood still for minutes. At
first we found it funny and thought he was just a bit scared to see him
again, but when Hamsti (my girlfriend is responsible for the name! ;)
