Johannes passed in his sleep sometime last evening. He was 2 years and 3 months old...an average age for a hamster. He was one of the most docile hamsters I've had. I plan to find a new hamster sometime in the next several weeks.

I've been a hamster owner now for about 8 months. I watch and play with them every day, so I've had plenty of time to make many observations of hamsters and the way their owners (sometimes mistakenly) view them.

I watch this hamster at night time... watching him just move around and nibble on the cage... for some reason i had to test how he would react if i put orange peel smell on the cage bars where he nibbles on ... he just moves to another spot where it doesnt smell like orange

I'm thinking of getting some hamsters. And I know hamsters will have tons of babies and I don't want a bunch of babies running a round. Would it be ok if I put two felmale hamsters together? And if so what type should I put together? I want two because I'm still going to school but ...

How do i make a hamster smart or is there a way? Should i get him a MAZE of some kinda of thing to make him intelligent? Well that is my question.. will appreciate any kind of answer as long as it is reasonable.

Rupert has finally passed away aged 27 months, i could tell last night that it wouldnt be long,but she held on all night and this morning she finally let go,i feel devasted but glad she is at peace. Rest in peace Rupert,you were a joy to have.
