additional aeration?31 Jul 2003 22:26 GMT7
I have a 29 gallon SW tank that has been up and running for about 7 months
now.  I have 2 damsels, one common clown, 1 cleaner shrimp, an astrea snail
and a hermit crab.
My filter is a Marineland 170 filter with biowheel.  The temp stays around
Nassarius Snails ...31 Jul 2003 21:13 GMT2
Any opinions of these snails? I have a 90 gallon tank, and got hold of 100
snails. I want to build a cleaning crew of turbo snails, emerald crabs, etc.
Are nassarius snails good critters to put into this mix? If so, what would
be a good ratio?

Hey all.
I'm getting back into the SW hobby after about 3 years of living
without any fish whatsoever (Did he say living without fish?!
Infathomable!).

I've been topping-off with kalk water for a while now but can't seem to
siphon out a fully dissolved mixture, or the powder is coming out of
solution in my reservoir.  Does this happen with everyone else?  Here is my
procedure..

Thanks Ric! (i.e., Ric from Florida)31 Jul 2003 16:37 GMT3
Just got off the phone with Mike - incredibly nice guy & real helpful. The
"much cheaper than CaribSea" is really an understatement! :)
Also wanted to let others who were considering adding more sand to their
tank that Mike mentioned that UPS gives great shipping rates if large
Drop-In Water Chillers?31 Jul 2003 06:54 GMT3
I had a problem recently with an extremely unreliable Rio submerged pump
running my wet-dry filter on a 75 gallon saltwater tank.  It failed during a
power outage while I was on vacation, and took out the majority of the fish
in my tank...I'm still recovering from the carnage.
Hair Algae31 Jul 2003 05:04 GMT2
Does anyone know how to kill Hair Algae without killing all the fauna ?  I
had a terrible out break of this stuff and I can
not seem to get rid of it.  I have moved the animals to an OT and rebuilt
the old system.  The new tank

Mushroom Parasite?31 Jul 2003 01:28 GMT3
Some of my mushrooms are infested with what looks like a parasite, but I
can't find any information on them.  I have several different types of
mushrooms, but the infestation seems to be limited to one or two types.  The
ones they're concentrated on are dark grayish-green and have a ...

7g nano reef opinions needed - please respond30 Jul 2003 23:51 GMT1
My LFS just got in two 1.5 inch Yellow Watchman Gobies from the wild that
are paired with a .5 inch Tiger Pistol. Do you think this is too much of a
bioload for a 7g nano. I don't have a skimmer but do 15% water changes a
week. Opinions appreciated!
Multitest SEACHEM - storage, expiration date30 Jul 2003 19:59 GMT6
I have problem with two sets of test by SEACHEM.
Iodide, Silicate tests do not work even on a reference sample.
They do not have any expiration date on the box, so I have no
idea if they are old or still fresh and I am doing something wrong.
