Re: Kalk Dripping20 Jul 2003 00:20 GMT1
Re: Kalk Dripping
Where is the best place to drip the kalk into your system?  I am pretty sure
i read you dont want to drip it into
your tank.  I was dripping it into my sump right where my return pump was.

anemone @ the top - water change - arggg18 Jul 2003 06:12 GMT1
I need to do a water change in my 90 gallon tank and I don't have a sump.
The problem is that my anemone has made its way from the bottom of the
tank(under the halide) across the tank, wrapped itself around my large
leather than back across the tank, up my mountain of star polyps ...
Just fired up my 250 watt HQI MH18 Jul 2003 05:51 GMT1
After debating, and thinking, and debating whether to take the plunge
into MH from VHO, I finally made the large investment in a chiller and
250 watt HQI MH fixture.  Just fired it up and quite frankly it
overpowers my existing 460 watts of VHO to the point where it is sort

Anyone Using a Tetratec Deep Water Air Pump - Strong/Quiet??16 Jul 2003 20:26 GMT2
I've been using a Rena 100 for the last 2 years to run a 6" and 1"
airstone in a 20 gal and 5 gal tanks, respectively. The Rena is nice and
quiet but it's not quite strong enough to run my 2 airstones, IMO. I was
wondering if the Tetratec DW-18 would be a better pump to use for ...

Sump questions16 Jul 2003 17:41 GMT1
I've made a 4 gallon plexi hang-on sump/refugium for a 10 gallon reef
I'm working on. The concept was to have a pump in the tank supply the
sump via a tube, and let the sump overflow back into the tank. My LFS
guy says this is a bad idea because all of the plankton, food, etc, gets
Sand Sifting Star - Astropecten polycanthus16 Jul 2003 16:43 GMT3
Acording to the Livequaria.com description, Astropecten polycanthus
do not have suction cups so they cannot climb glass/rocks. I am not
sure if Liveaquaria is right or wrong, but my star has suction cups and
does climb glass. Maybe I have something different, not Astropecten
