funny domino behavior??17 Aug 2003 14:35 GMT4
My domino damsel has adopted a shell as his home.  He backs in and
chaises all the rest of the fish away.  Is this normal?  Does he think
it is an anemone?

bubbles stuck in tank17 Aug 2003 07:48 GMT1
I am seeing lots of bubbles stuck to the bottom of my overflow and the area
around it.  My water parameters are wonderful, ammonia is 0, nitrites 0,
nitrates almost undetectable, phosphates 0, SG is 1.025, everything is good.
Most of my sand is only about 4 weeks old with about 10 ...

A pic of some of my clams16 Aug 2003 19:23 GMT6
I just got this new black maxima on Friday & here is a recent picture of
some of the clams in my tank. There are 10 clams total but I think this shot
only shows like 6 or so.

On line suppliers16 Aug 2003 18:53 GMT3
I am about to embark on an ambitious project. Putting together a 75 gallon
reef entirely using tank raised "stuff". My goal is to use nothing taken
from the ocean. We will see how it goes.
To do this though, I am going to have to find some suppliers. ANyone have
DSB depth (undulations in sand)16 Aug 2003 05:03 GMT4
From reading various posts on here there seems to be a reasonable
consensus that DSBs should be 4 inches deep (more if possible, but if
I did more than 4 I'd end up with more DSB than water).
Have put a fair bit of sand in already-- 2-3 inches front of tank and
What was the issue with RIO 2100s?16 Aug 2003 04:25 GMT8
There was a discussion on these pumps, was wondering why people don't
like them?
New Tank Question15 Aug 2003 03:48 GMT1
Just finished the stand for my new 66gal reef. I framed it out of 2x4
and covered it with 1/2" oak plywood. It looks great and is very
solid. I put 5 coats of verathane on the inside and 3 on the outside.
I am building the canopy now, and was looking for suggestions on what

The first one is either Kiss me!! or Feed me!! ;)
Slightly OT but have a question14 Aug 2003 14:33 GMT5
I managed to get myself into a slight predicament on another newsgruop with
a young lady from Great Britan who is going to be vacationing in Florida and
who was asking about swimming with dolphins. Instead of just biting my
fingers back I made the comment that I thought those ...

reliable?
Golden Pearls and feeding Baby Brineshrimp14 Aug 2003 02:15 GMT1
Hey guys, I'd like your input on feeding.
I just got my very first jar of Golden Pearls, which surprisingly stated that it
must be stored in the refrigerator.  Now how do I feed this stuff?  Do you mix
in in liquid?  Do you squirt it toward the corals (like goniopora or acropora)?
Cycle13 Aug 2003 22:55 GMT6
Im cycling a tank at the moment...
In the past i have just measured nitrite and not really bothered with
ammonia as i know when the nitrite is zero the ammonia will be aswell..
Then ill get a nitrate test kit do a water change and add a couple of
Grape Caulerpa Algae - who will eat it?13 Aug 2003 05:05 GMT2
I have the beginnings of an excess of Grape Caulerpa Algae .  It is
hard to manually harvest.  Sticks to the rocks and breaks into pieces
that scatter.
Do you know of any fish or inverts that will dine on this stuff?
