yellow tail info for teeb03 Aug 2003 06:12 GMT4
Hey I was looking through my new book and they said that yellow tails do
best in a group of three or more.  Less than that they tend to be
aggressive.  When I saw that I thought of you and yours who like to head
but.
MH problem and question about clams03 Aug 2003 04:43 GMT3
I've *finally* changed out the lighting over one of my tanks and added
400 W MH.  My problem is that the bulb will fire for about 2 hours
and then shut down.   After 10-12 minutes it turns back on again, then
goes off about 5-8 minutes later, repeating this cycle.

spot the size of a quarter... now the dead spot is over 50%! Water

New meter for RO water quality02 Aug 2003 01:20 GMT5
I have a couple of RO units for my aquarium (automated top-off unit,
and unit in garage for water changes).  One of the problems that I
have had is knowing when to change the RO membrane.  I just got off
the phone with Spectrapure, and they just started to sell a Dual probe

Advice on Protien Skimmer01 Aug 2003 19:35 GMT8
I am somewhat new to the newsgroup.  I am looking for advice on a good
skimmer to  get for a 75 gallon tank that will be fish with live rock.  The
local stores try to sell the seaclone, but I get the feeling that it is not
well liked.  Second, how can you measure the performance of ...
Brown growth on sand01 Aug 2003 16:37 GMT3
Well, as some of you know I recently set up a new 7g nano. It was a
departure from my 36g reef as I decided to use sand instead of crushed coral
for the substrate. Well, a few weeks into this and I've noticed a brown
dusting/growth growing on the sand in certain places. What is it? ...
Xenia Not Doing So Well01 Aug 2003 07:27 GMT5
I bought a small fragment of a Xenia about 5 days ago and it just does not
look very healthy.  My water quality is great and I was cautious to
acclimatize it very slowly.  I only have 200 watts of PC lighting.  All my
other corals are doing great.  The Xenia only extends its arms ...

Adequate light intensity for Acropora Tortusa01 Aug 2003 04:54 GMT1
Expecting a frag of Acropora Tortusa; a beautiful deep blue color.
The frag has been grown under 400 Watt Ushios (don't know the color).
I was planning to place this frag directly below  a 250 Watt HQI 10K
mini-pendant.  There is about 10" of water, between the frag and the
