Why holes in bottom of tank?30 Sep 2003 19:03 GMT7
I'm looking at a used tank (180 gallon).  It has a number of pre drilled
holes in the bottom running down the middle (4 or 5).  What would you do
with these?  They had to have been made for some purpose, but I can't
think of what it is.
Hurricane Juan: Heartache in Halifax30 Sep 2003 18:35 GMT4

Yellow Tang
Coral Beauty
Royal Grama
Post cycling deaths... any ideas?30 Sep 2003 16:21 GMT10
I'm new to saltwater, and I've cycled a 100 gallon tank I purchased
from a neighbor.  It was previously a freshwater tank, but had been in
storages for about 2 years.
We cycled using live rock (about 15lbs) and silver mollies.  During
Musings on feeding anemones30 Sep 2003 16:09 GMT2
Hi, all,
I thought I'd share some experiences on feeding my H. crispa. I mentioned
about 6 months ago that I had had good luck simply by feeding my fish near
the anemone and it would get sufficient droppings to thrive. Marc L had

Can anyone point me to a link for a Four stage RO/DI unit schematic.  I
can't seem to get it back together properly.  My system has a drinking
water kit with holding tank, faucet, and seperate pressure guage, and a
Kent shutoff valve attached to the end of the RO unit housing.

to the touch. it's feels like it's hollow underneath.
CPR Aquatic, AquaFuge refugiums29 Sep 2003 14:51 GMT7
I am considering purchase of HOT type refugium for my 30g reef.
I could not find it in any LFS and pictures on websites are not good
so I have couple questions. Possibly someone on this group has it
and can answer my questions.
wattage for CF lights29 Sep 2003 05:37 GMT15
Anyone know the suggested wattage per gallon for compact flourecent lights?
I had MH and typically ran no less than 5 watts per gallon (though I had
more like 8).
CF lights are a lot brighter / watt. Right now I'm running about 2.5

Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp29 Sep 2003 05:29 GMT1
I just purchased a Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp yesterday evening. It seemed healthy
but so far today I can't find it.  Do they tend to hide a lot in fish tanks or
are they noctornal? A year ago I owned a Skunk Cleaner Shrimp but lost it
during a power outage.  Is there anything special ...
Establishing my tank29 Sep 2003 05:10 GMT4
I have a 29g, currently with a bio-wheel and reverse UGF.  Bakpak skimmer
is on the way.  I plan to get rid of the UGF and Biowheel and get some live
sand/live rock.  I am currently cycling (fishless), but aren't all my
bacteria going to go away when I get rid of the UGF and the ...
