Reference Book07 Oct 2003 06:40 GMT5
I'm interested in getting a printed reference book for all things about
keeping a coral reef aquarium.
I'd like something I could read besides all the online stuff I've found.
Could anyone recommend a really good book that is as up to date as possible?
Light troubleshooting07 Oct 2003 03:55 GMT2
My 29 gallon reef lighting system is lit with two VHO flourescents with an
icecap ballast. Today, I came home to find the lights not working. When I
flicked the switch off and then on again, one bulb TRIED to light (barely
producing any light) then went out after no morethen a ...
Ricordia dying, sorry for the length07 Oct 2003 03:34 GMT8
I'm not new to this hobby, but have been out of it for a while. I'm a long
way from an expert and google is not helping. I just set my system up again
8 weeks ago. 75 gallon 4 foot long under tank wet dry, protein skimmer,
charcoal filter, great water flow, good algae colors and all ...
pink/purple cotton algae07 Oct 2003 02:03 GMT8
I've had an unknown algae growing in my sump/refugium for some time now, and
I thought I'd see if anyone can tell me what it is.  I've done a search on
Google, and the best I can come up with is that it won't hurt anything.  It
looks like pink/purple cotton.  Sorry no pictures, but ...

What sieve size can I use to filter out rotifers larvae and
recycle water fertilized by rotifers to feed fitoplankton?
In other words - what is the minimal size of rotifer in
any life form it takes in his lifecycle?

Turn $5000 into $500,000.00 per year. I do All the Work !
Guess what, you don't have to sell anything.  I do all the work. You just
need to be able to check your E-mail daily at 12 noon EST.  Can you do that ?
If you can, I'll make $500,000.00 a year for you, minimum.

Hydrometers & Salinity06 Oct 2003 03:20 GMT2
I know this topic has been brought up MANY times as I just finished a google
and now I am more confused that I was before I looked in to this.  I'm sorry
for having to tear the scab off of this but...
I understand how temperature can effect your readings on a hydrometer.  I
LR hitcher ID06 Oct 2003 00:54 GMT4
I've taken to spending a couple of minutes each night observing the goings
on of my tank with a flash light. Along with the various worms and
crustaceans moving around the rock, I found a peculiar creature that I can't
find any details about by searching the web. Hopefully someone ...

Conductivity meter as a evaporated water replenisher controller05 Oct 2003 18:05 GMT10
In theory, water level in the main tank is stable when sump is used.
But if something block the overflow (some slug, anemone, etc) water
level will rise and automatic RO replenisher based on a float will
add some RO water lowering salnity below desired value...
Ice Probe Freezes Filter into Block of Ice05 Oct 2003 16:26 GMT2
I awoke this AM to find the Ice Probe on my 7g nano had frozen the Whisper
HOB filter into a solid block of ice! This is astonishing considering I had
the controller set to 78. The only thing I can think of is that the large
probe that sits in the filter is so large that is has ...

What is it?04 Oct 2003 20:12 GMT3
I bought a live rock with a feather duster and a bunch of what looked like
white worms on it.  After having it in the tank for about a month the white
started turning green.  I just bought a set of lights yesterday (1 power
compact 65 watt, 10,000K, Premium-Daylight and 1 power ...
