I am building a new system and am attempting to 'stair-step' 3 tanks.  The
4th 'tank' is the sump/wetdry filter and a 10w UV sterilizer - I pump to the
top tank, then overflow into the 2nd then into the third then to the sump.
Have you folks any intersting designs for ...

I was wondering if anyone could help clear up a situation that I have come
across regarding metal halide bulbs. I see bulbs (specifically 175w) everywhere
online and am confused about pricing. The LFS here charges about $85 per bulb.

Have recently place a 4 1'2" Crocea clam in the bottom of my 150
gallon reef tank.  It sits about 30" away from a 250 watt HQI MH.  It
has been in the tank for two weeks, and it seemingly continues to
expand more and more.  I do not believe I have seen many clams this

Anyone know if my queen Conch is eating my snails?  It seems to always be
sucking on a snail shell, but can't tell if it's just cleaning up the
empties or not.

What do you guys use for filtering out the trolls in this newsgroup?

Hi.  I'm planning a new marine aquarium and have a couple of simple
questions that I just haven't come across answers to.  The basic plan is
for a 75 gallon system, 80 pounds live rock, live sand, protein skimmer,
powerheads, power filter, heaters, lights... just the basics, but ...

can I use existing filter, aerators, plants. gravel, etc, add the salt and
put in the saltwater fish?  55 gal tank, established fresh for about two
years, good water chem levels, giving away all my fresh water friends to
people whom I've helped set up tanks.

Hi, I'm about to put some aragonite live sand and coral sand into the tank &
get started...
I know the coral sand needs to be rinsed but can I rinse it with tap water
then RO water?

I have recently replaced my 55 with a 75 and having trouble stabilizing my
PH/Alk and calcium.
Can I use Reef Builder and Reef buffer by seechum at the same time?

I have a lettuce nudibrach who just laid eggs near the top of the water
line. She has not moved from the area all day. The other lettuce keeps going
on about his business.
Does anyone have any idea on gestation time of the eggs or are they not
