Moving - giving away fish in San Jose, CA21 Nov 2003 18:04 GMT3
We're moving, so are giving away fish to a good home. We've a yellow
tang, a clownfish, blue damsel, also an open brain coral and some
zenias. Send me an email for more details, and to arrange a time for
you to pick up.
brown algea21 Nov 2003 15:39 GMT8
I know that the brown algae isn't a bad thing (means the tank is cycling?)
but now that I have fish in the tank how do I keep it under control?
Newbie Query21 Nov 2003 11:08 GMT8
I have finally purchased a second hand tank for my marine aquarium.  I have
got the lights, heaters, testing kits etc.
My query is I also got a Fluval 303 canister filter with the tank.  I
checked with fluval and they say they do a skimmer attachment for this
Nano-reefs?21 Nov 2003 09:26 GMT4
I was at a major marine LFS today and saw these little nano-reef tanks that
come complete with lights, filtration, etc. This sounds like a fun way to
put a small reef in the bedroom. The couple I saw set up were very
attractive with live sand and rock, a few inverts, some corals, ...
Damsels in Distress21 Nov 2003 09:00 GMT3
I have 2 blue damsels in my community tank. One is slightly larger than
the other. And, you guessed it, the bigger one picked on the little one
relentlessly for about a year and a half. The poor little guy hid in the
skimmer surface box most of the time with his little face peeking ...
WHATS A  " SUMP " FOR ?21 Nov 2003 08:25 GMT1
Please excuse my ignorance but what is the purpose of a sump in an aquarium
?  You know that tank bellow the tank.  Is it to facilitate attachment of
multiple devices like protein skimmers UV sterilizers and calcium reactors
Ect. , or what ?  Thanks.

Need Input on MH Lighting21 Nov 2003 04:24 GMT8
Hi all, I have decided to upgrade my lighting for my 75g reef as I *PLAN* to
have clams and other "high lighting requirement" creatures.
I would have gone MH in the beginning but the cost is what convinced me to
go with PCs.
Plumbing 10121 Nov 2003 04:23 GMT2
Bulkheads- what is the difference between standard threaded and double
threaded? Which one do I want on my main overflow drain?
Ball valves- I plan to use several of these where ever I think I might
possibly need them (fear of flooding)- what is the difference between
Nano Tank Question21 Nov 2003 03:38 GMT2
I'm thinking of getting one of those cute little 12 gallon tanks as a
way of easing into the hobby. I still don't think I have enough
knowledge to tackle what I want (100 gal or so, corals, fish, refugium,
skimmer, etc. etc.), what with the initial and livestock investment.
Sally Lightfoot Crab21 Nov 2003 03:09 GMT4
How harmful is a sallylightfoot crab ?  I am wondering if one will prey on
my snails and crabs.
Has anyone had any experience with them ?
Thanks,

Help, first time I have found this newsgroup. I am *TRYING* unsuccessfully
to set up a Trigon 350 tank for Marine. Despite everything I try, I cannot
get the water to a high enough oxygenation level. My dealer now says Trigons
are not designed fro Marine? Anyone offer and advice - ...
