Air stones20 Nov 2003 09:11 GMT3
I was at the fish store tonight and noticed about half the tanks had air
stones running in them.
I always wondered about this. In most of my readings, airstones are not
discussed for saltwater tanks.  So I'm a bit confused.  You need to
Linkeas: Empire wreakers?20 Nov 2003 04:55 GMT6
The Blue Linkea is probably too big for a 29 gallon tank, but I wonder
if even a little orange or red one is as strong as it appears and might
topple my somewhat delicately balanced rocks.  I don't know if you can
tell from this photo that I have many small live rocks as well as ...
Cool-running submersed powerheads (comparison)20 Nov 2003 04:39 GMT18

Snails and Starfish dying, fish are fine20 Nov 2003 04:34 GMT2
I have tried two types of snails and two general starfish over about a
year in my fish only tank.  All died in hours.  None of the fish have
died quickly and all seem healthy.  Any ideas?
buying an aquarium20 Nov 2003 04:25 GMT4
Hello, my name is Evan. I would like to know what a reasonable price
for a 20 gallon saltwater tank is, I am also interested in what you
think a 20 gallon freshwater would cost. My lfs is offering $170 for a
20 gallon freshwater tank (includes: stand, tank, filter, gravel,

Aqua Spacelight...Good light system?19 Nov 2003 23:36 GMT3
We are considering the Aqua Spacelight Metal Halide HQI system for our 55
gallon reef tank.
Has anyone used this system? How well does it perform for you?
We are wondering why it is not fan cooled.
Fans in hood19 Nov 2003 18:26 GMT10
Is there any bad effects of small fan blowing directly over a 250 watt MH ?
Just thought I would ask before mounting the fans in my new hood...

Hermit crabs & turbos19 Nov 2003 15:23 GMT1
I had a couple blue legged hermit crabs and about a dozen turbo snails.
They seemed to do a great job cleaning up.  After a bout with ich, and me
over medicating the tank things seemed to come back almost to normal.  A
couple weeks after putting the charcol media back in the filter ...
Breaking tanks19 Nov 2003 07:10 GMT3
Is there anyone close enough to Colchester, Essex, to give a good home to
the much loved critters from two marine tanks that I need to break down?
I have a number of fish, inverts and some corals from a two year old set up.
Thanks, Jeff.

I really like the refugium since it has really helped with the nuisance

I was away visiting family out of state, but see there are 286 new message to
peruse in the near future.  I'll fit it in as time permits.
From what I can tell, my reef tanks did just fine for the duration. :)
