Thank you in advance for reading this. I have had a 20g freshwater tank for years. When I moved I gave all of my fish to my friend. I am now going to set up a saltwater tank. Here is water I was thinking. Any and all comments will be appreciated.

| Sump for a 29 gallon | 18 Nov 2003 08:46 GMT | 4 |
Would the effects of a sump on a 29 gallon be worth the investment? Just so I understand it right. The tanks has a steady current that flows to the sump and the sump pumps water back in to the tank. This allows for evaporated water to be added to the sump instead of the tank and ...

| Top down photography | 18 Nov 2003 07:18 GMT | 7 |
I built a special topdown photo box for Travis (TS on ReefCentral.com) today. I'd post a picture of it, but he already has it! :D Anyway, it is similar to a specimen box like the LFS use to hang a fish on the front of the tank. However, all the walls are made of black acrylic, with ...

| Keeping the visible algae to a minimum? | 18 Nov 2003 02:57 GMT | 1 |

| Tank pad concerns | 18 Nov 2003 01:19 GMT | 3 |
We recently set-up our 55 gal. acrylic w/ 70 #'s LR. We placed a 5/8 piece of polystyrene, cut to the dimensions of the tank, underneath to distribute the weight. Our knee wall top has a slight bow (about 1/16-1/8") from end to end of tank.

| Can't get good alkalinity levels | 17 Nov 2003 09:56 GMT | 11 |
I´ve been fighting hair algae for a year. I tried everything, then i found my KH was too low (4,5 dkh) and calcium too high (550). I tried to put things right. So i stopped adding kalk and started dosing Seachem's Reefbuilder.

| Algae help needed | 17 Nov 2003 03:59 GMT | 2 |
I'm starting a new 30 gal. marine fish only tank (only 2 small damsels, and a piece of synthetic coral in there now) and going through the cycle, which is almost complete. Amonia, nitrites and PH (8.2) are all stable. I have done a 20% and then 50% water

| Having new tank problems? | 17 Nov 2003 01:44 GMT | 1 |
I have been at this only for a couple of years, so I am no expert. However I have found a few keys to success for new tanks. That may save you time and money. I have had several sets and now have a 20 and 55. both reefs both housing
