I love my little RO plant.  Approx. $30 for the Rubbermaid trash can, a
couple of bucks for the spigot, and about $10 for the blocks, and I was
set!!  I have a Kent float valve in the can, not expensive either.  Here's a
pic:

Can anyone point me towards a decent site that shows how to get photos of
stuff in the tank. I did read Marcs on the box he made but I am looking for
a way to get a decent picture from the front or sides of the tank not the
top.

The submersable heater in my 75 gallon marine tank melted yesterday. It was
A VisaTherm from Aquarium Systems. I've had it for several years and have
never had a problem. When I got home there was an obvious oder that

I have a 38 gal that I would like to start a reef/fish aquarium with.
I have read a lot of posts but find it very confusing as to what works
best. Can somone clear up some of the issues in the various methods
for starting this aquarium? My last attempt at this was a 10 gallon

Everywhere I read, it says blue tanks should be in 70G plus.  Is this
correct, or can I put a blue tank in a 46g?

What will be better for me:
a)plenum in sump from coraline gravel, it can be quite thick (15cm or even
more), main tank - bare bottom
b)DSB in sump (no possibility to buy live sand at all, so only dead

I have a common lionfish in my tank which is new and has not been eating
for about 4 days now.
In my previous tanks in the US I've had a similar setup and maanged to
get my Lion fish to eat within the first day of when it is in the tank.

I went to buy a ballast to make a canopy for a 36 in tank.  When I got
to the store I find that there were many ballasts for 48 in bulbs but
none at that store for 36 in bulbs.  To uncommon I was told.
My question is are 40 watt ballast ok for 30 watt bulbs?  My thinking

Ok i am just getting started , i have a 75 gallon tank , i was told
that i need to purchase at least that amount of live rock according to
a chain pet store in our community . I was kinda put off by this , so

I have a small finger leather in my 7 gal nanoreef. Its positioned very
high in the tank near the water surface. He's always done very well,
opens and closes on about a 4 day cycle, looks very healthy.  As the
water evaporates, he typically just shrinks/bends down to stay

I am in the process of converting my wet/dry trickle sump into a refugium.
Does someone make a commercial conversion kit? This sump is only 3 months
old and my husband would kill me if I trashed it. So I need to use it
somehow. Can anyone point me in the right direction on this ...

i have a 34x34x24 tank with 400watts mh on it now i added a maxima clam,
which was placed on a mantal on top the clam kept moving untill it hit the
bottom, it was at the bottom at the lfs should i bring it back on top of
the mantl or just leeave him be?
