hitch-hiking crab12 Dec 2003 17:03 GMT21
I got a couple new pieces of LR yesterday and today I noticed a very large
crab in the tank. It's about 1.5 inches in diameter and looks like a sort of
green\grey color. Definitely not an emerald, he looks very stocky (fat claws
and shell) and has black pinchers. I have only really ...

Skimmers12 Dec 2003 10:58 GMT3
Anyone have experience with AquaC  EV180 skimmer? I'm using the required Mag
7 pump. Makes nice foam but next to nothing gets up into the cup. I have
adjusted the waste gate from wide open which sets the water level to 1 inch
below the reaction chamber as per instructions. and I ...
Dumb Anemone Question12 Dec 2003 05:08 GMT6
Can anemones be upside down?
I ask because this morning when I turned the lights on I discovered that it
moved all the way across the tank.
I've only had it for a couple of days so I am sure it is trying to find a

US Aquarium Brand Protein Skimm11 Dec 2003 03:19 GMT1
The only protein skimmer I've ever owned is 20" (120 gal) hang-on-back
by US Aquarium.
I suspect that it's not such a great skimmer but am unsure what to
expect since this is the only one I've ever used.
A few zoanthid pictures11 Dec 2003 03:02 GMT2
A few zoo shots.  The first two pictures are the new zoos I got a few days ago.
They are the larger kind, with a disk the size of a dime.

"Passed" my tapwater test11 Dec 2003 02:43 GMT2
Our tapwater test was pretty much a success.
I did find one flaw in my design but it is easily remedied and best that I
do it now instead of later.

How bad is this?11 Dec 2003 01:13 GMT3
Today I wanted to add a couple of power heads to my reef.
Like a dumb $h!+ I put them in the tank and plugged them in to make sure
they worked.  While I placed them and was trying to hide the cords behind
rockwork, they unded up pointing downward and stirring up about half of my
Cannibal Green Brittel Star10 Dec 2003 22:03 GMT7
This is going to seem like a stupid question but what is the proper way to
feed one of these. I purchased one from the LFS for $1.99 on sale and was
like ok cool good deal. Well I get it home and this thing is a cannibal.
After acclimation I dropped it in the tank and right away it ...

Costumer Service Is Alive And Well10 Dec 2003 16:22 GMT1
I will make a long story as short as possible here. I purchased a 90 acrylic
tank from BLUE SIERRA in Issaquah, Wa. on 9/17. Since then I have built my
stand, hood, wired all the electric in the stand including a PLC to run
things, plumbed everything and all the while curing 90lbs ...

air bubbles10 Dec 2003 00:26 GMT2
I added a long flat piece of live rock two days ago and today I noticed that
underneath on the bottom of it are a bunch or larger air bubbles. Is this an
indicator of something wrong?
