Am I just unlucky with them, or are they really messed up?
What is your experience with this company?
Not for the first time I have problems with my order...
Last time macro algae I ordered arrived almost dead.
Protein skimmer question01 Dec 2003 22:42 GMT9
I changed my protein skimmer (Top Fathom) feed from a Rio 2100 to the output
of my Magnum 350 canister filter, feeding out of my 15 gal sump for my 55
gal reef tank.
The flow is much slower, which I have read is better (water in contact with
Teflon tape inside unions?01 Dec 2003 20:29 GMT2
Can you tell I've never "plumbed" before?
Am I supposed to use teflon tape inside the premade unions w/ gaskets (or o
rings- whatever)?
I'd think not but you never know....
SPAM01 Dec 2003 20:03 GMT17
The House voted overwhelmingly Saturday for a bill to outlaw most Internet
spam and create a "do not spam" registry (can't wait to get my hands on that
list) for those who do not wish to receive unsolicited junk e-mail.
This is funny because the government thinks that by creating a ...
Water Cycle01 Dec 2003 19:37 GMT2
It's now the begining of the 3rd day of my new tank getting it's 20kg of
live rock, and at present the ammonia levels are still low, the no2 and no3
are also at the bottom of the scale. How soon before the crazy cycle should
begin ? I also patched up the hole in my skimmer and it's ...
Angelfish Problem01 Dec 2003 17:15 GMT1
I have had an Emperor Angelfish (juvenile) for about 6 weeks and suddenly he
is looking pale and not eating too well.  The other fish in there (maroon
clown, foxface rabbitfish, hippo tang, blue-chin trigger) are all seeming to
be fine.  I checked salinity and it was pretty high; ...
Decent In Sump Skimmer01 Dec 2003 16:29 GMT7
Hey all, long time no see...
I am getting ready to purchase or build a small sump, maybe 10-20 gallon. I
would like to put a skimmer in it and I am having difficulty researching.
I was wondering if anyone had any luck, good or otherwise, with any models.

Just got done building the tank stand, but noticed a gap between the tank
and the stand, just enough for a penny to slide under it. does anyone see
this as a problem ?
Curious about spam01 Dec 2003 15:53 GMT11
All smoke and no fire?  I know that the names of all posters to ramf are
periodically listed in a pro-spam group such as

Clownfish w/beard: fungus? something else?01 Dec 2003 13:58 GMT5
I have two true percula clownfish as the only fish in my new 75G tank with
90 Lbs LR.  They've been in for about a week.  They have been doing well,
came back from Thanksgiving holiday to notice that the smaller one has
developed a whitish "beard" around (espc. below) his mouth, ...

Phosphate removal01 Dec 2003 07:01 GMT10
Has anyone here used those phosphate removal pads that you put in your sump to
remove high levels of phosphate?
cured vs uncured live rock01 Dec 2003 04:40 GMT3
It's been a mystery to me, but what's the difference between cured and
uncured? Is one better than the other?
What's the "rule of thumb" so to say for the amount of LR for a tank? Is it
1lb/gal? or does it depend on the density of the rock? So far I have 10# of
Overflow comb - noisy?!?01 Dec 2003 04:39 GMT4
Just ordering a new tank and desiding on the level my internal
overflow chamber should be built on. I'd like the water level in the
115g tank to be approximately 1" - 1,5" from the top of the tank.
For tuning and many other usefull purposes (saving fish from entering
