Man, these bastards are tough. Gotta give them points for tenacity. So far I'm losing the battle- (1) Tried peppermint shrimp- added two to my AGA72bow about a month ago. Immediately after being added they approached and got stung by

I have a 27 gallon tank, I do regular water changes, and keep the balance right on. There is no sign of red slime or anything else. Over the last 3 days, I had 3 fish die. Don't know why. One had been in the tank for over 8 months, the others less, but pretty long.

I want to build a sump for my 55gallon, it is not predrilled and I can't/won't drill it, mainly due to the fact that it is already setup with some soft corals and live rock. I looked at the LFS today and they have 20 gallon high on sale for $21.99 which I thought was not bad. But is ...

| protein skimmer issue | 12 Jan 2004 18:01 GMT | 1 |
Guys, When I setup my tank, I bought a "Hang-On Wet/Dry Filter" with a built in Protein skimmer. I did this because there is very little space where the tank is. I literally cut a hole in the wall and dropped it in there.

| Modular Live Sand System Possible? | 12 Jan 2004 15:14 GMT | 2 |
The concept of a modular live sand system has crossed my mind on occassion, and I was interested in feedback from the NG. It seems possible to develop a modular system for live sand (or live rock for that matter) in which the LS or LR is placed in a box (perhaps half

| how to clean algae cleaner? | 11 Jan 2004 21:22 GMT | 2 |
I just ordered a MagFloat to replace some of my older algae cleaners. Just curious what everyone does with respect to cleaning/maintaining the cleaner itself ... with my older ones, I just rinsed with R/O water and kept it aside. But, I don't think this really cleaned it, and ...

| White Crab | 11 Jan 2004 03:11 GMT | 1 |
I just noticed a small pure white crab, about the size of a nickle, in the branches of some pulsing Xenia I bought yesterday. Does someone have a good ID site for crabs? I did the regular searches and could not find much. I am working all weekend but will try to get a picture posted ...
