How much light?03 Jan 2004 07:44 GMT11
I'm now on my second anemone (both surviving) in my 30 gallon reef tank.  I
have noticed that both of them tend to move out of direct light.  One (the
new one) wants to go to the back of the tank and hide partially under the
live rock.  The other is in the front but partially under ...

Pump, sump and elbow on the intake03 Jan 2004 01:18 GMT6
Small plumbing question for you, plumbing experts... :-)
When I connect return pump (Little Giant 3-MDQ-SC) to my sump,
should I keep the pump intake stright from the bulkhead or can
I give it 90' elbow to have the pump parallel to the sump wall?
skimmer articles03 Jan 2004 01:03 GMT1
Does anyone have any good articles about protein skimmers bookmarked? Like
how they work, why you should/shouldn't use them, etc?
Thanks,

Clownfish's eye is hurt02 Jan 2004 23:26 GMT1
I've had a healthy pair of Ocelaris Clownfish for about 5 years.
They've been spawning for almost 3 years and appear very healthy.
I just noticed a few minutes ago that the male's right eye is puffed
way up.  It looks cloudy and it's sticking out quite a bit.
Natural Sunlight02 Jan 2004 22:58 GMT3
Why is natural sunlight not used for fish tanks? To my knowledge metal
halides are the closest match to the real thing, but not as good. Using
natural sunlight makes a lot of sense, but whenever I ask the LFS, I get
answers like 'algae problems' etc.
Aquascape Ideas02 Jan 2004 17:29 GMT1
I've got a custom 97 gallon tank on the way (it's roughly rectangular,
footprint is a bit larger than a 90, with a largish overflow in one
corner.  The tank will be visible from 2.5 sides (front, right end, half
of the back) with the rest being visible only in the laundry room ...

I have an Aqua C Urchin Pro and it's pump, a Mag Drive3 (350gph).
I also have a Mag Drive2 (250 gph) returning the water to a 75g tank.
The skimmer and both pumps are in my sump. It all fits without
forcing anything, but having the two pumps does create a lot of
