Best lighting for a 10 gallon reef?29 Jan 2004 15:22 GMT5
Actually I have 3 questions:
1) I have a 12" deep tank and I have a hood with 2 15" flourescent strips.
Would 2 bulbs be sufficient? What would be ideal? The tank is 20" wide so
there are not that many fixtures available that would fit. I don't want to

Does anyone know how to make the turbofloter work with only 1 pump??
I have seen some posts and I think you have to plug the hole at the
bottom that is going into the skimmer.. BUt I would like to find out
if anyone has done this.

have just set up my latest marine tank using a crushed oyster shell and
sand mix............ Is this going to be ok ??
It's only a thin layer of course. My other tank uses coral grit but I
fancied a change......... Just wondered if anyone has any thoughts on this

Is the red coloured alge that is growing on my sandy substraight a good
thing for the tank ?, it looks good and helps to keep the stuff from blowing
around the tank. Also in 2 sections of it are some small pink/purple
coloured flowers growing.

Hi, I have 30Galon tank that I would like to convert to a sump tank. Is
there any description how to make it  or detail pictures?
besides, I woudl like to know what pump should I use, what diameter of the
hoses.Will pump the water 4 feet high.

I have a 55 gal tank that has been cycling for three and a ahlf weeks now.
I tested for ammonia and nitrites this Sunday past and both were below
readable levels.  It was suggested that this wasn't normal and that I drop a

i have a toadstool leather that i bought 2 months ago from the lfs .
when purchased it was brown/beige color with a section of it that was
whiteish. the brown/beige part of it is pretty much gone, now it looks
pale but            it      opens & xpands everyday,looks healthy,

skimmer arrived today. still waiting on the onerflow had to be drop shipped
from Aqua-C. Boy this thing is big, I'm going to have to move my lights so the
hood fits properly. :]

I looked at my substrate through the glass aquarium wall today and saw
little worms digging a tunnel through my substrate. They are really
really small and white. WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY?!? Is this good or bad?

I added a giant fanworm and a small rock with several mushrooms to my tank
two days ago, i looked at the tank a few moments ago and i noticed the tube
worm (probably sabellastarte magnifica?) shed its crown, and my clownfish
appear to be doing poorly. one is being pushed around by ...

When I'm grown up and big like you guys ;)...I'd like to start a reef setup.
I am very interested in keeping critters that glow in the dark. Are there
such critters?
