Well, I'm getting excited...Got my 80 set up with a 30g sump next to it. My wife really wants seahorses in the sump with the macro algae so I thought I'd put it up with the main tank so she wouldn't have to lay on the floor to see them.

Within less than 10 hours, my cycling 75g with 40 lbs of LR I put in less than 4 days ago, is almost completly covered with brown algae. Blew me away how quick! </excited>

a number of my hard polyped corals seem to be getting holes/gaps in their base, the polyps/tentacles open very nice daily. i drip kalk daily, add liquid calcium,stront/molybedum 2x a week,iodine,trace elements,vitamins also 2x a week. any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have had a 29 gallon tank setup for the past 24 hours and by the middle of the week I should have 45 pounds of FIJI Live Rock to add. Should I be looking into somekind of cleanup crew at this point? If so, what should I get? I see a lot of cleanup crew packages around.

Once my tank has completed its cycle with the LR, I plan to add a small cleanup crew (hermits, cleaner or CBS), and a damsel. One thing I have seen little info on is recommended food. Can someone give me some tips?

I have had my finger coral now for over two weeks and no sign of opening infact it as gone blue what does this mean?. I think my metal halide bulb is ready for changing not changed it for two years whats the chances of this having something to do with it?
