A leather coral that's been happy in the tank for some months now has
decided not to extend its tentacles for three days. Everything else in the

never looked happier. The rest of the corals appear normal.

How Do You Protect an Anemone from a Powerhead?03 Feb 2004 05:24 GMT13
I remeber hearing about this before, and I thought I knew the answer to this
question.
I thought a strainer on the inlet of the powerhead would stop an anemone
from getting sucked in.
DEAD SALLY LIGHTFOOT03 Feb 2004 05:03 GMT5
I had a Sally Lightfoot Crab for 9 months.  I purchased her when my tank was
3 weeks old.  At that time, my tank had a lot of green hair algae.  The only

New tank query03 Feb 2004 04:48 GMT2
I am considering setting up a small aquarium to include living rock a couple
of small fish and inverts - shrimps etc.
How small can I safely go?
Will a 12 gallon tank be adequate with frequent water changes?
Enough life to cycle?03 Feb 2004 04:35 GMT2
I have a quick question about cycling my tank.  The tank was setup
January 18th and has been cycling since (9 days).  The live rock was
fully cured and had some nice growth on it.  I have actually had no
visible die off on the rock.  In fact, Anthelia has grown like crazy

I'm setting up a new Knop C reactor and after reading many articles, I'm not
sure which media to go with, Koralith or Caribsea ARM.  Here is what I

Green Mandarin03 Feb 2004 03:38 GMT20
Anyone have experience with these?  I think I remember Marc said he had one?
I've read that they live off of copepods and amphipods (spelling?).  Isn't
that BAD for a reef?
I saw one of these at an LFS and it was love at first sight!
sand sifter03 Feb 2004 03:10 GMT12
Anybody got any ideas on a good sand sifter to keep my sand stirred up
some? It also needs to be inexpensive if possible, and it is a DSB.
