I've been cycling my first 180L tank with 4 damsel fish for 10 days now, I have been testing the water every 2 days with 'red sea' test kits but I'm either not reading the results correctly of I'm misunderstanding the concept.

I have 2 36" Sunlight supply lights with 8 bulbs each Total 16 39 W bulbs, 72" across. I admit I pretty much guessed at the bulbs to get, the quantity and the placement.

I have a 55 gal tank with 3x Occelaris clownship. I'm looking to add a anemone to the tank which I'd like to have hosting the clowns. The H. Magnifica looks a nice one but heard it is quite a difficult anemone

Well I have been trying for quite some time in growing phytoplankton and all I end up with is bright green seaweed and green alge, but no water born phytoplankton. Is there someone here that is growing the stuff that can give me a run down

just set up a new 55 gal saltwater tank about 2 days ago, put in about three inches of crushed coral about "O" this size on top of an undergravel filter, running a large back flow filter with 2 wells and just the two sets of carbon filters in each well, 2 power heads one on each end ...

I'm interested in starting my own 55 gal reef aquarium. I have been reading alot of posts, books, and browsing the net. I was wondering if this is feasible. I live in North Carolina about 4hrs from the coast. Its warming up and I may soon visit the beach.

I plan to restart my tank soon The crushed coral that was in the tank should I just get rid of it. for the best DSB how small is the sand. I understand about it being a buffer but the size is also important but I do not know quite why.

All, I am having terrible problems with red slime algae no matter what I do I can't get rid of it. I am using RO/DI unit brand new to top off with, the tank is 8 months old. I have spent a ton of money to try and do this right

I have a 54 gl corner tank which is a month old now. I have 1 blue damsel and 1 three striped damsel, as well as 2 clown fish. I introduced the damsels about a week in to simply get some amonia into the tank and introduced the two clown fish in the past week.
