Tank cycling30 Apr 2004 16:26 GMT3
I've been cycling my first 180L tank with 4 damsel fish for 10 days now, I
have been testing the water every 2 days with 'red sea' test kits but I'm
either not reading the results correctly of I'm misunderstanding the
concept.
Do I have the right mix of my ATI T5 High Output aquarium bulbs?30 Apr 2004 14:43 GMT1
I have 2  36" Sunlight supply lights with 8 bulbs each
Total 16  39 W bulbs,  72" across.
I admit I pretty much guessed at the bulbs to get, the quantity and
the placement.

My computer has filters on it that will not let me view this website
which I put on it because I am a Christian and I have no desire to look
at filthy stuff. So this site is no longer an option for me. I've
enjoyed my time here at Reef-chat helping others and getting help for

Advice on 100+ Gallon Tank30 Apr 2004 00:20 GMT5
I've decided to move up from my little 29 gallon fish tank (one clown
fish and three other fish -damsel(sp?)).  Anyway, I want to move up to 100
gallon tank and start keeping a little more difficult fish than clown fish.
In the two pet stores I went to, I only found one 100 ...

I'm looking to add a anemone to the tank which I'd like to have hosting the
clowns.
The H. Magnifica looks a nice one but heard it is quite a difficult anemone
My efforts at growing phytoplankton29 Apr 2004 09:53 GMT14
Well I have been trying for quite some time in growing phytoplankton and all
I end up with is bright green seaweed and green alge, but no water born

Is there someone here that is growing the stuff that can give me a run down
any advice appreciated29 Apr 2004 09:48 GMT7
just set up a new 55 gal saltwater tank about 2 days ago, put in about three
inches of crushed coral about "O" this size on top of an undergravel filter,
running a large back flow filter with 2 wells and just the two sets of
carbon filters in each well, 2 power heads one on each end ...
A drive to the beach...is it worth it?29 Apr 2004 07:00 GMT2
I'm interested in starting my own 55 gal reef aquarium.  I have been
reading alot of posts, books, and browsing the net.  I was wondering
if this is feasible.   I live in North Carolina about 4hrs from the
coast.  Its warming up and I may soon visit the beach.
sand silca   coral crushed29 Apr 2004 06:25 GMT2
I plan to restart my tank soon The crushed coral that was in the tank should
I just get rid of it. for the best DSB how small is the sand. I understand
about it being a buffer but the size is also important but I do not know
quite why.
Occelaris Clown29 Apr 2004 04:01 GMT2
I've had one Occelaris clownfish, just short of 2 inches in size, and just
over 2 weeks ago I added another two of approximately an inch each.
I've noticed the one smaller clownfish spends a lot of time hovering near /
in a "caved" in section of my live rock and today noticed it ...

I have a 54 gl corner tank which is a month old now.  I have 1 blue
damsel and 1 three striped damsel, as well as 2 clown fish.  I

the tank and introduced the two clown fish in the past week.
Sun Aquatics28 Apr 2004 16:57 GMT2
Hello, I just bought three Sun Aquatics 10K 175W Mh bulbs. They make my tank
look like a tank of pee! The tank is so yellow that it litterally looks like
urine! I put my old bulbs back, and the store does not want to take the new
ones back. They lost a good customer. Has anybody ...
