Recently, I asked some questions on how to reduce phosphates.
Among the suggestions that I followed were....
Get a refugium...

Help with Shrimp20 Apr 2004 19:01 GMT6
I have a new Aquarium. 75G with Wet Dry. and I just finished my cycle. I
used Fiji Live rock to do the cycle. I have introduced 3 tangs, an royal
gramma and all are doing fine. I also introduced 2 Emerald Crabs and they
are also fine (though hidden).
Acropora millepora20 Apr 2004 06:51 GMT3
I got my first Acro,  a nice purple Acropora millepora, and need any /
all  tips.
I have it currently getting some pretty good current, and am not
familier with SPS to know if it needs no, low, med or high current.
LR Stow-Away Shrimp ID20 Apr 2004 02:30 GMT1
I picked up a new piece of Live rock last night for my tank, and as soon as
I dropped it in, out pops a shrimp who then immediately burrows a hole under
anoter piece of rock. He has all the markings of a Skunk Cleaner, so at
first I was satisfied to think that he was. But, then I ...
Bristleworm eats mushroom?19 Apr 2004 04:25 GMT1
Saw a worm in my tank....assumed was a bristleworm though it was different
color than other worms I have seen in past....this guy was white and red but
still looked like your run of the mill bristleworm.  Anyway, I noticed he
was planted right on top of a section of rock with 2-3 ...
Cleaner Crew Feeding19 Apr 2004 04:21 GMT1
As I set up my tank I'll have the DSB with LR going before I add anything.
What order do I add a cleaner crew, corals, fish?
If the cleaner crew goes in first, will they have anything to live on
besides what might come off the LR, or so I need to feed them anything?
Lost a hermit crab??19 Apr 2004 03:13 GMT5
Came home this evening and one of my hermit crabs was dead and out of his
shell.  He seemed healthy and had recently switched to larger shell (Atrea
snail shell).  The other hermit crabs, the snails and my clown fish seem to be
doing fine.  The only thing that I have changed is I ...
Old Tank Blues18 Apr 2004 01:51 GMT7
I would like to get some ideas on how to best remove some brown algae from the rocks on my 55 gallon. The tank has been set up
for 7 years.  It had a massive bryosis outbreak a few months ago, but my lemonpeel and a new yellow tang took care of that. Now
where the bryosis was, ...

That unsightly mess in the sand bed next to the glass..17 Apr 2004 15:44 GMT4
I have a 125 with about a 4 to 5 inch dsb. It's been up and running about 9
months. Gone through the usual
ups and downs with algae. Everything seems to be coming together now.
My question is,,,Is it ok to run a glass scrapper down into the sand bed
Need Advice Reading Salifert Phosphate Results17 Apr 2004 14:17 GMT7
I am having trouble deciphering the reading this test kit is showing me.
Maybe I am getting old but if you look at the card, it can be hard to tell
the difference between two shades like .25 and .5
I mean, yeah, I CAN see a difference but it is SO minute.
Electrical Question17 Apr 2004 03:11 GMT9
I am trying to figure out if  need to add more outlets around my tank.  In
the future I want to upgrade to MH lighting and was not sure if my current
set up would be safe adding Mh also.
This is what I have now and maybe you could answer my question.
Muscle Anemone17 Apr 2004 00:27 GMT1
I don't get it.  This long tentacled anemone looks so graceful and
rather fragile, but overnight it shoved rocks twice its size and many
times its weight 10 inches across the tank.  I've tried blocking its way
so I can have the aesthetic last word in its placement, but there's no ...
