CPR Hang-On Refugium24 May 2004 00:09 GMT3
Hello Group,
I was wondering if anyone in this group has had any experience with
a CPR AquaFuge Hang-On Refugium?   I don't have enough room in my sump for a
built-in refugium so I'm considering this one.   Marine Depot indicates that
Auto top-off23 May 2004 21:43 GMT23
I have found a couple auto-top-off plans on the net, but they are
either so poorly written that I cannot follow them, or include the
use of expensive pumps, switches, sensors, and valves. I'm not in a
position to spend much money at this point, but with the switch to a
A Lot of Phytoplankton23 May 2004 14:58 GMT1
Sort of off topic, but I could not resist.
Now THATS a lot of phytoplankton, as the rest of us struggle to make a few
spoonsful at home.

Pod Tank Update23 May 2004 07:52 GMT1
A little over a month ago, I set up a separate 10gal tank to raise some extra pods for mandarin food. I just seeded it with a cup of
gunk from the bottom of my LFS live rock tank. It has a sponge filter, and several pieces of fake tonga rock. I feed it flake,
sinking, and frozen ...

having read so much good info on the BLV 10000K bulb I modded my MH to
accept a double ended bulb but when lit it's like a different spectrum.
the old bulb gave off a really bluish light but it definitely had 10000K
written all over it.  the new bulb I one that has excellent reviews ...
snails dying22 May 2004 01:53 GMT10
I have lost  pretty well all my snails Astrea Snails, Margarita Snails,
Cerith Snails.  This happened after getting a few new snails which I
bought to try and control a outbreak of cyanobacteria/red slime.  Did
the outbreak kill the snails?  Should I get turbos instead?  Could it ...

I'm confused...again21 May 2004 12:08 GMT7
If using tap water for a reef is a sin because it might contain silicates,
why is it ok to use silica based sand? Or I am I compaing apples to oranges

Death by High PH?21 May 2004 05:05 GMT8
Hello all, my reef has been up and running for 3-1/2 years now, and I
couldnt be happier with it.tonight while doing some minor cleaning I noticed
my big Emerald crab sitting on the top of the reef. This is odd, as he
usually only appears when the main tank lights are out. I reached ...

Lawnmower blenny wont eat21 May 2004 04:36 GMT2
I recently lost my lawn mower blenny in a overflow accident so fixed
the problem and decided to get a new one. Problem is this new one
dosent seem to want to eat. Its been in the tank about a month and I

Sand Question20 May 2004 21:16 GMT23
I want to turn my fish only tank into a reef tank, so I go to the LFS to buy
about 200 pounds of sand. The cost of the sand alone costs more than $400.
I then changed my mind about getting the sand from them. I live near many
sand quarries and I called them up to see what the sand ...

can't use fire.
