Red Algae  :(08 May 2004 03:53 GMT21
I have had an outbreak of red algae. I am concerned that it may overtake the
tank. I have done frequent water changes...any suggests per remedy... I have
heavy flow, ASM skimmer, and refugium/sump.
Thanks.
Replaced CC with Southdown DSB - 4 to 5 in deep enough?07 May 2004 20:18 GMT7
This is my second post in a week.  :)  Earlier I posted on the fact
that I just setup my 75 gal tank with the intent of slowly growing it
into a reef.  A coworker of mine is very successful with two very nice
SW tanks and instructed me to use fine (very fine) crushed coral for

Anemone split into 3 - is this "normal"?07 May 2004 01:42 GMT5
I had an anemone - I bought it as a ritteri, but it might be another
species.  Anyway - it split last night, which I understand is
something that can be used as a reproductive method by anemones - my
questions is:
Wave2K06 May 2004 22:52 GMT5
Has anyone out there tried one of these things?
It is much cheaper than a Turbelle but only if it doesn't require frequent
repairs.

I just put up some pics of my construction so far. Please have a look
and give me some feedback. Constructive critisism welcome. If you have
any ideas to improve on what I have done or what you would do
different, I would appreciate it.
Florida Yellow Cucumber06 May 2004 16:47 GMT10
I purchased a yellow sea cucumber yesterday. I hoped it would dig
itself into the deep sand, but it did not. It crawled on the
macroalgae instead. Is that normal for them? I was told in the LFS that
they come from Florida.  They have that crown of small,

Tank improvement advice wanted06 May 2004 06:48 GMT14
It's been about a year since I set up my 75 gallon reef tank (some pics
at http://www.spazthecat.com/iblog/B93549880/index.html) and I was now
looking to optimize anything I could. So, I was looking for a little
advice as far as what I should do first.

Lighting05 May 2004 23:25 GMT2
This may seem a stupid question but what the hell...
I've read that to keep anemones and / or certain corals, etc you need
something like 5 - 8 watts of lighting per gallon.
My display tank holds ±55 gallons and the sump ±20 gallons.  Take into the
Black Spots on Percula Clowns04 May 2004 23:58 GMT9
The past few weeks I have been noticing these black spots on my Perculas.
They appear to change in shape, size, and position.
I am not aware of any diseases like this.
Anyone familiar with this situation?
