unsafe or not.04 Jun 2004 16:30 GMT5
my two juvenile clowns have suddenly taken a liking to my furry mushrooms,
as a proxy anemone.  they roll on their sides among the furry(?) bits and
lay into the mushrooms at night.  when feeding the mushrooms would
occasionally close up like an anemone.  has this tricked them into ...
Not liking 10,000K MH bulbs04 Jun 2004 14:39 GMT8
This weekend I drove out there to pick up some supplies and decided to
finally 'upgrade' from my 175W 5500K venture MH bulbs to some 10000K
bulbs.  All they had in 10,000K was their house name "German" 10,000K.
They could tell me anything about the bulbs except they were German
Calcium Test Troubles.04 Jun 2004 08:52 GMT2
Hi again all.  I got my 90 set up with the southdown sand and it cleared after
much diatom filtration.  I just tested the calcium levels for the first time
today using RedSea's kit.  The problem is that I couldn't get a result.  I
followed the directions exactly but the sample would ...

Need some Advice04 Jun 2004 07:30 GMT1
Looking to get a 120 reef gallon tank. Its going to be in the wall. I was
thinking of a 5 footer that was 24 inches high and 20 inches width. Or go
with a standard 48x24x24 tank. What do you guys think ? Also what thickness
of glass should the tank be built with ? And should the ...
Southdown Woes.04 Jun 2004 03:32 GMT8
Hi all.  I am setting up a 90 reef and have added a bag and a half of Southdown
sand but now my water looks more like skim milk.  I rinsed it lightly before
adding but that was no use.  Any suggestions for getting the water to clear up
quickly?  Is the cloudiness just due to the ...
ETHICAL question about what i've done!!03 Jun 2004 21:52 GMT3
So during last spring semester at college I lived in a frathouse with
the majority of my fellow brothers. On of the brothers is a complete
piece of trash. I mean real scum. This guy would skim hundreds of
dollars out of our dues fund to furnish his room and pay for his share
Spanish Dancer03 Jun 2004 20:37 GMT2
Anyone have info on Nudibranch / Spanish Dancer (Hexabranchus sanguineus)?
Feeding habits in particular.

Pistol Shrimp03 Jun 2004 18:46 GMT3
Anyone have any info on these creatures - pro's and con's of keeping in the
home aquarium.
So far in ±2 months I think I've seen it 2-3 times and the bugger shot my
finger while I was clearing the debris out of the tank that I didn't realise
nano reef live sand amount03 Jun 2004 17:41 GMT4
I have an eclipse system 6 that I am looking to turn into a nano with some
shrooms and a few small pieces of rock and what ever else happens to grow.
I wanted to put a live sand base, how many pound should I get for a tank
that size?
Air driven skimmer experiences?03 Jun 2004 13:32 GMT7
I am interested in getting rid of the chiller on my reef tank, it adds
extra maintenance and complexity to something that should be a
relatively simple affair (at least that is the idea right ;). So in
this quest I am looking at lowering overall heat input in my tank. I
HAGEN PO4 Test Kits.03 Jun 2004 09:11 GMT13
Just wondering if anyone here has had experience with Hagen Phospahte Test
kits, and if they have an answer to this problem.
A friend and I each have a Hagen Phosphate PO4 test kit, his is included
with the Briefcase test kit bundle they offer and mine is just the PO4 kit
Xenia stinks!02 Jun 2004 22:01 GMT11
Have you noticed how (healthy) Xenia coral stinks when taken out of water?
Yesterday I was working on a frag for Mort and when doing the final
separation from the mother colony I put my nose too close and I was
reminded how stinky this coral was... I already noticed this odor weeks
CO2 @ 30 bubbles per second?02 Jun 2004 21:53 GMT6
I have a Knopf Calcium Reactor, and after 8 years I need to
replace the CO2 pressure stage. I have 3 problems with the current
CO2 equipment.
1. Three times in the last year it has dumped all the pressure in
Mysid shrimps and DSB02 Jun 2004 15:22 GMT2
Have a question about mysid shrimps living in the tank with DSB.
I have read crabs/shrimps are not good for DSB as they hunt
on DSB creatures... This warning usually applies to larger crabs
like hermits and larger shrimps like cleaners...
