| How many times will an anenome split? | 21 Aug 2004 12:55 GMT | 3 |
A couple of weeks ago, after being out of town for 2 weeks, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my rose anenome had split twice (from one to three). Since my tank has limited high-light areas necessary for anenomes, I ended up trading one into the LFS for

| Do it yourself projects | 21 Aug 2004 12:52 GMT | 1 |
I've haven't seen much of it on this group, but I think a few do it yourself posts would be cool every now and then. Not all of us have the deep pockets it can sometimes take to run a reef and every penny saved helps. Besides,

| Night water flow | 21 Aug 2004 01:29 GMT | 5 |
I was curious to know how many people out there reduce the current flow in their tanks to simulate calmer night oceans? I have a 240 FOWLR and although there are good hiding spots in the LR for the fish to sleep in, I'm afraid that once the tank is fully stocked, sleeping ...

| Snowflake eels escaping? | 20 Aug 2004 17:47 GMT | 2 |
Exactly how concerned should I be about a snowflake eel escaping? I'm starting a 75 gallon fish-only tank and want to include a snowflake eel. My tank is well covered, but I do have two openings on the back of my tank to allow for filtration hoses and a hang-on protein skimmer

| How about green wolf eels escaping? | 20 Aug 2004 17:41 GMT | 1 |
OK, I posted earlier asking about snowflake eels escaping. I decided not to get a snowflake, because I just didn't want to go through the trouble of sealing my tank up really tight. I've decided to get a green wolf eel instead. I've heard that since

| Gadget to hold water change tubing onto tank rim? | 20 Aug 2004 14:54 GMT | 10 |
When changing water in my tank (no sump), I use a maxijet 1000 pump and some plastic tubing to siphon water out (maxijet in the tank). Then, to put the newly mixed water into the tank, I use the same pump in the bucket with the tubing going up to the tank.

| Anyone Near Chicago looking for VHOs? | 20 Aug 2004 03:32 GMT | 3 |
I am gearing up to place an order with Premium Aquatics and I though I would see if there were any reefers near Chicago that would want to combine their order with me so we could split the extraordinary shipping costs of the Bulbs.

| Protein Skimmer upgrade recommendations | 19 Aug 2004 21:31 GMT | 6 |
I have a 4 year old 150 gallon reef tank. The tank was custom built for me, and came with a protein skimmer built by the tank maker. Although the tank including the fish, LPS and SPS have done very well in general, I still have persistent low levels of nitrates 2-5, and

| Brown algae My 2p | 17 Aug 2004 22:20 GMT | 10 |
Battling for years, and reasonably in control. But recently cut my lighting by just one hour, to 9 hours a day (last 4 weeks) and the problem has completely cleared up with no adverse effect on anything.

| Anenome ID? | 17 Aug 2004 19:38 GMT | 2 |
If I described my anemone as having - * long tentacles, light brown in colour (some with a hint of green) * the outer tentacles being white at the bottom * a white base firmly entrenched in a crevice between two rocks....

| bubbles | 17 Aug 2004 00:19 GMT | 3 |
I recently upgraded from a 65 watt power pc to a 400 watt metal halide. I noticed today that there are bubble sitting on top of my DSB (1 year old) and a fair number of bubbles mixed in the sand and crushed coral that I can see through the glass. Is the new lighting a coincidence ...
