| Building a DI system | 16 Aug 2004 06:06 GMT | 5 |
I would like to add a DI system to my RO unit and I'm having trouble finding the anion and cation resins. I'll be building the cartridges myself so I'm looking for just the resins. I've found lots of refill cartridges that I'm sure I could

| return pump | 15 Aug 2004 19:41 GMT | 12 |
Anyone have a solid suggestion on a return pump for a 72 gallon bowfront reef? The return flows through a chiller before the display, an the single overflow dumps into a refugium. I also have a skimmer that I think would work more

| Mandarin disappearence? | 14 Aug 2004 06:26 GMT | 3 |
Do Mandarins often hang out in a remote corner of the rockwork then disappear for a couple weeks? I occaisionally see a flash of movement in a cave but I'm not sure if it's him or not. Thanks,

| bio-balls & phos absorb | 13 Aug 2004 21:36 GMT | 5 |
whilst trying to cure my algae problem I added a pouch of phosphate absorber to the sump and some filter floss 9nto the media chamber of the prizm skimmer. from doing this, the skimmer has started to produce a much better residue. it's less thick (more fluid) and much more of it. ...

| Questions about LR & LS in new tank | 13 Aug 2004 15:07 GMT | 3 |
I am studying up in preparation to start a 15 to 20 gallon marine tank with live rock, live sand, corals, shrimp and a small fish. Also planning to use an Eheim canister filter and protein skimmer (unless of course I'm advised otherwise). I've read a bunch of posts here as

| open-top reef tanks | 13 Aug 2004 03:22 GMT | 5 |
I wanted to get your thoughts on open-top tanks... I have a 30 gallon acrylic that I'm thinking about setting up as a reef tank. When I say "open-top", I mean that there is very little horizontal acrylic on the top of the tank. (There's only a "brace" in

I went away two weeks and when I got back this Monday I noticed that my rose anenome had split. Today I was moving one of my live rocks, and I find another rose anenome. Two splits in two weeks! Visit my homepage http://hometown.aol.com/tdtom30/tomsreef.html

| bad Salifert nitrite kit | 12 Aug 2004 15:00 GMT | 2 |
I discovered I had a bad Salifert nitrite kit, which I bought about 2-3 months ago. Beware of falsely high readings. I wasted a couple months waiting for a new tank with uncured live rock to cycle. It was done all along! My LFS said several kits have been returned.

| Closed-Loop System for 125 - Suggestions? | 12 Aug 2004 04:05 GMT | 2 |
I'm setting up my 125g reef, and want to install a closed-loop system for circulation. I do intend to use the SCWD "Squid" unit. But would like some comments on how to go about this on a large tank. I'd prefer to eliminate ALL use of Power Heads.
