I am interested in upgrading my FOWLR system to include 2 Metal halides and 2 Vho actinics. I wanted to know if I get a hanging hood(PFO) will the light be concentrated directly into the tank or will the light flood the wall behind and the room. Wanted to know

It's hot here, so the tanks taking a battering too. Currently the temp is over 30 degrees in there, (86 for you Americans.) Are there any good tried and tested (and cheap!) methods that can help keep things cool?

Before I go killing this off I want at least a 2nd or 3rd opinion. Is this aiptasia? From what I've seen searching around, they are usually brown translucent. The closest I could find was glass anenome. Picture posted on the nano-reef forums:

| hydrometer vs refractometer | 10 Aug 2004 23:00 GMT | 1 |
I've checked the FAQ for this, and if the answer is there, I didn't find it... I note that my LFSs use hydrometers to check the SG of their own water and any samples customers bring in. I happen to have a decent

| Tunze turbelle | 09 Aug 2004 08:07 GMT | 4 |
I buy the magazine "Tropical Fish Hobbyist" monthly. The advertisements by TAAM Inc (T/A Rio) show very high throughput pumps which seem identical to the Tunze turbelle series. Are they being manufactured under licence in the U.S., or is this a rip-off ? Does

Just got my first digital camera. A Canon Powershot A70. I have no experience in photography, but am enjoying learning about my new toy. One of the first things I've found is shooting pics of moving fish in idiosyncratic tank lighting is a bit tricky. :-)
