glass reef aquarium28 Sep 2004 11:01 GMT4
Hi everyone, I'm new to this group, but not new to the hobby. I've got about 10 years experience in the reef/marine aquaria hobby and I've decided to
start up again after a five or six year hiatus.
I seem to remember that about 8 years ago a company was making glass aquaria ...
simulating a deep (live) sand bed?28 Sep 2004 08:03 GMT6
I'm in the process of planning out my 29 gal. reef tank.  My question
relates to the deep sand bed.  I know that the deep bed denitrifies
better because there are anaerobic areas where bacteria can break

replacing clowns28 Sep 2004 08:01 GMT1
I remember reading a post of something like this a while back but now that
something has nabbed one of my clowns it's time for a replacement.  I had
noticed that although they shared the tank one clown would protect his furry

Hi - i'm wondering if anyone knows of a good way to interface the cold
side of a peltier unit efficiently into the aquarium water?
I'm planning to build something a little beefier than the 50W Ice
Probe/Microchiller units that are out there  (

this water and the advisability of using it to top of my 120 gal reef tank?

saltwater solutions - chicago?28 Sep 2004 04:07 GMT1
I saw a link to a supplier of reef janitors a while back.  I beleive the name
was Saltwater Solutions in the Chicago area.  Bought some blue leg crabs and
was very happy with the price and service.  Their link no longer seems to work.
Is anyone familiar with this company?
Lionfish Shedding ?27 Sep 2004 22:47 GMT8
All,
I previously posted a note to ask what all these ghost like pieces of 'skin

I am hooking up a CA reactor, and it says to have the outlet flow set to 1-2

Thanks,

Snails on Snails!27 Sep 2004 05:50 GMT1
My Turbo Snails seem to have other much smaller snails on there shell...
At first I though they were babies as they seem to multiply all the time in
my tank but there a much whiter colour than all the babies on the glass and
there a much slimmer shape (like hermit crab shells).
