PING:Marc or other RO\DI experts27 Sep 2004 05:49 GMT7
Ok, i've just installed my first RO\DI unit, after some issues with
leaks at the water source, it's working. I'm running it through it's
first few gallons of water, as directed. I have a couple questions.
1: I understand that there are 4 types of steps. Particulate, carbon,

New Pump27 Sep 2004 04:14 GMT7
This is off my post about "Timer / Temperature Controller"...
Everyone told me to be careful using a pond pump due to the metal parts, and
sure enough, the pump I was looking at was full of them. The water flow on
my tank is no where near what I want it at. For a 100 gallon tank and ...
Trying to find water level controller26 Sep 2004 23:59 GMT17
I know that I have seen an online retailer who sells water level
controlled switches which consist of a tube-like sensor which sits in
the sump which is connected via airline tubing to a switching module
in which you can plug a pump.  Does anyone know where to find such
Overflow question...26 Sep 2004 19:39 GMT5
I am very new to this and I'm trying to understand the overflow/sump system.
My question is in a non-drilled tank if the overflow looses siphon, will the
return pump 1) overflow the display tank and 2) will the pump burn out
running dry once the baffled sump space runs out of water?
magnesium26 Sep 2004 17:37 GMT1
Can someone tell me if dosing kalk or using a calcium reactor do
anything for magnesuim levels in a tank?

How to glue suction cups26 Sep 2004 01:47 GMT2
Hi,
I have a problem with suction cups not sticking to the back wall of
the aquarium. I tried gluing it with dolloar store crazy glue, but it
doesn't hold well. Anyone here use a brand of glue that works better?
Alk normal, big pH swings26 Sep 2004 01:07 GMT3
Hi everyone.  I had a beautiful reef tank for years that I operated on
the sheer-dumb-luck principle.  Occasional water changes were the
extent of the maintenance, and it thrived.  No skimmer, no water
tests, etc.  Somehow it worked out.
Brown Anemone25 Sep 2004 16:46 GMT1
After I got some live rock, I began seeing small brown tubelike amimals with
tentacles on the end not attched to the rock.  The fish store told me they were
brown anemones.  I had quite a few, but since getting some red legged hermit
crabs the numbers have been reduced substantially ...
Tang with Lymphocystsis24 Sep 2004 23:07 GMT1
My yellow tang has lymphocystis (probably caused by a rise in
temperature in my tank to 88).
He has been in there for about a week.  He's eating fine and behaving
normally.
Strange things happening to Caribbean Fish24 Sep 2004 13:31 GMT8
Recently I've had a Bi-Color Pseudochromis and a Royal Gramma die on me.
They were not in the tank together.  About a month ago I found my Royal
Gramma (which I had kept healthy for six months) stuck between 2 pieces of
live rock.  He was dead.  The strange thing was he was stuck ...
New Marine Setup - Live rock questions24 Sep 2004 12:09 GMT3
I have currently got a new marine tank setup going and its in the
first few days of infancy.
I have a RIO 125 tank with a Fluval 204 external filter, marine-glo
and aqua-glo lighting.  There is about 1" of crushed coral sand as
Bilge as backup pump24 Sep 2004 09:40 GMT3
Anyone currently using a marine bilge as a backup for their reef tank?
I am trying to find recommendations for a decent one to get (otherwise
I will probably have to by a couple and test em, so if someone else
has experiance it would be appreciated).
Sea monster fossil answers old mystery - story in World Science24 Sep 2004 06:07 GMT1
An extinct sea monster used its long neck to creep up on victims with its
head, then suck them in, scientists suggest based on a new fossil find.
