Ok, i've just installed my first RO\DI unit, after some issues with leaks at the water source, it's working. I'm running it through it's first few gallons of water, as directed. I have a couple questions. 1: I understand that there are 4 types of steps. Particulate, carbon,

| New Pump | 27 Sep 2004 04:14 GMT | 7 |
This is off my post about "Timer / Temperature Controller"... Everyone told me to be careful using a pond pump due to the metal parts, and sure enough, the pump I was looking at was full of them. The water flow on my tank is no where near what I want it at. For a 100 gallon tank and ...

I know that I have seen an online retailer who sells water level controlled switches which consist of a tube-like sensor which sits in the sump which is connected via airline tubing to a switching module in which you can plug a pump. Does anyone know where to find such

| Overflow question... | 26 Sep 2004 19:39 GMT | 5 |
I am very new to this and I'm trying to understand the overflow/sump system. My question is in a non-drilled tank if the overflow looses siphon, will the return pump 1) overflow the display tank and 2) will the pump burn out running dry once the baffled sump space runs out of water?

| Alk normal, big pH swings | 26 Sep 2004 01:07 GMT | 3 |
Hi everyone. I had a beautiful reef tank for years that I operated on the sheer-dumb-luck principle. Occasional water changes were the extent of the maintenance, and it thrived. No skimmer, no water tests, etc. Somehow it worked out.

| Brown Anemone | 25 Sep 2004 16:46 GMT | 1 |
After I got some live rock, I began seeing small brown tubelike amimals with tentacles on the end not attched to the rock. The fish store told me they were brown anemones. I had quite a few, but since getting some red legged hermit crabs the numbers have been reduced substantially ...

| Tang with Lymphocystsis | 24 Sep 2004 23:07 GMT | 1 |
My yellow tang has lymphocystis (probably caused by a rise in temperature in my tank to 88). He has been in there for about a week. He's eating fine and behaving normally.

| Strange things happening to Caribbean Fish | 24 Sep 2004 13:31 GMT | 8 |
Recently I've had a Bi-Color Pseudochromis and a Royal Gramma die on me. They were not in the tank together. About a month ago I found my Royal Gramma (which I had kept healthy for six months) stuck between 2 pieces of live rock. He was dead. The strange thing was he was stuck ...
