Tank comes to life but ...24 Sep 2004 01:52 GMT2
My new tank has been maturing nicely - ammonia peaked and dropped,
Nitrites soared and dropped (high = over 100ppm, now = 0.25 ppm and
falling steadily). As the levels of nasties have come down, a bit of
life has started to emerge from the live rock.
Make your own live rock??23 Sep 2004 15:50 GMT15
I've read it, I've even bookmarked the page... just wanted to see if anyone
has done it, and if there was any success with it?
Seems like a not so bad idea.... but could be 'too frugal' of an idea too...
Toxic Mold23 Sep 2004 05:22 GMT3
I am currently running a fishroom in the basment, and the air is
pretty humid.  I am from Canada, and the Winters make it extremely
expensive to keep open and still maintain the proper temperature in
the aquariums (not to mention a headache to regulate!).
Red Algae22 Sep 2004 23:15 GMT5
Help my 90 gallon marine tank is being over taken by red algae. What
is the best way to get rid of it.

pod raising22 Sep 2004 21:38 GMT3
I have aquired a very entertaining spotted mandarin goby, and he has
plenty to eat in my 75reef, but eventaully, I'm sure he wiill outpace
the production of little critters for him to munch. I'd like some
input of personal success on raising your own 'pods for goby food,

Tried a freshwater dip...damn thing dug in deeper....any suggestions other
than dynomite?
I've lost a number of snails over the last year and think this is the
culprit.
Nitrates21 Sep 2004 18:27 GMT3
I recently heard there were some plants for saltwater that could help remove
Nitrates from the water.  Does anyone have any information about this.  I
seem to have a consistent high Nitrate problem.
Thanks

Disappearing Turbo snails?21 Sep 2004 00:15 GMT7
Hi all, I recently bought a cleaner crew which included about 7 Turbo
snails.
I have about 3 left, and I saw that two of them were empty and upside
down in the sand.

Mildly off topic: Macroalgae19 Sep 2004 01:36 GMT1
OK. This is SLIGHTLY off topic but I find better advice here (usually) then
anywhere else about odd marine aquarium questions. So bear with me.
I have an unused 35 gallon aquarium and everything I need to set it up as a
salt water tank. I already have a reef and want to try ...

I'm wondering if anyone here would happen to know of a site that could show
me how to make a DIY MH Ballast.
Thank you,
What to do...18 Sep 2004 18:38 GMT12
Looks like the economy has forced me to move.  The really sad part is that I
won't be able to keep the salt tank.  My problem is where or how do I sell
my 140 lbs of LR and other livestock?  The tank was set up as FOWLR so I
haven't spent any time or money on corals or other ...
