I purchased a Squamosa Clam (about 7ins) this weekend and was just after some advice on looking after it. I have a 200G tank, so the clam is sitting about 26ins deep under a 400W 14K MH light, is this enough light at this depth, or should I raise the clam.

If Ivan gets me, how often should I run my battery powered bubbler? 1 hour on / 2 hours off? Or something similar? Or will it ramp up as time goes on with no power? I'm kinda wanting to get a grasp on the minimum requirement

I have been experiementing with a Prism protein skimmer. Getting and keeping the flow rate / foam level right seems to be a bit of a black magic art (which I am getting the hang of), but I am also finding it quite noisy as the tank is in the main living area of the house.
